Sub: Request for nomination for Eight (08) Weeks Training Program on Solar
Technology from 18th March, 2013 to 10th May, 2013 at National Power Training
Institute, Faridabad
Dear Sir/Madam,
National Power Training Institute announces Eight (08) Weeks Training Program on Solar
Technology scheduled from 18th March, 2013 to 10th May, 2013. This Program is ideal for
Junior and Middle Level Managers/Executives of Solar Equipment Manufacturers,
Developers, EPC Contractors, Regulators, Consultants, Academic institutions, Central/State
Sector Solar Organizations etc. Nominations shall be preferred in respect of candidates
sponsored by their employer organization, however individuals can also apply. This training
programme is supported by Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) and full training
fees is being financed by MNRE.
There are 20 seats available in this course. Early nominations are suggested. Brief details
of the program are attached. This is the first training programme of its kind being organized
in the country.

Development in Power Sector with its Corporate Office at Faridabad. NPTI had been
providing its dedicated service for more than four decades. NPTI operates on an all India

Manpower Training and Academic Programs: Several long-term, medium term and shortterm training programs in the areas of Thermal, Hydro, Transmission & Distribution and
Management, Regulatory affairs etc. are being conducted in the various Institutes of NPTI.
NPTI conducts Induction training programs and refresher courses for a number of public and
private sector organizations.
Consultancy Services: NPTI provides consultancy services in Preparation of DPRs under
R-APDRP (11th Plan). NPTI has also been appointed as REC Quality Monitor (RQM) for
Tier-II Inspection of RGGVY Works under 11th Plan for Six States. NPTI has also been
awarded the Third Party Inspecting Agency (TPIA) works by few DISCOMs for the RGGVY
works under the 10th & 11th Plans.
Awards and Recognitions NPTI has been conferred the award for Excellence in
Training for the year 2010-11 by the World HRD Congress, under the category Employer
Branding Award.
NPTI has been conferred the award for Best Learning and Development Strategy for
the year 2010-11by the World HRD Congress, under the category shine.com HR Leadership

PROGRAM OVERVIEW
So far the emphasis has been on development of Thermal, Hydel and Nuclear Power plants.
Of late development of Solar Power Projects has assumed importance. Presently the
installed capacity of Grid connected Solar Power projects is about 1050 MW. There is a
target of commissioning 20,000 MW Solar power projects under Jawaharlal Lal Nehru
National Solar Mission (JNNSM) by 2022.
Such large capacity additions of Solar Technology require trained man power to meet the
challenges of tomorrow. There is an acute shortage of trained man power in this area. This
training program has been designed to meet this requirement. This is the first training
programme of its kind being organized in the country. This training programme is supported
by Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) and full training fees is being financed
by MNRE.

In such a case the sponsoring organizations shall have to make a payment of Rs.13,483/per participant
Optional Lodging and Boarding facilities may be provided to the participants subject to
availability.
Note: Participants may board the room one day prior to start date of the programme
after 12.00 noon and may check out till 5.00 evening of the next day of end date of the
programme.
