Q1. A tetrahedron base edge length 250mm and height 275mm is resting on the HP on its base, with one base edge parallel to VP and the base point opposite to this edge is away from the observer. It is interpenetrated by a triangular prism (base edge length 175mm and height 450mm). The axis of the prism is parallel to both HP and VP, one of its rectangular face is parallel to HP and at 100mm above the HP, the edge opposite to this rectangular face is above this face. This rectangular face which is parallel to the HP is 25mm away behind the axis of the tetrahedron. The axis of the prism extends equally on both side of the axis of the tetrahedron. Draw the projections and show the profiles. (First angle projection) .
Q2. A right regular hexagonal pyramid of base
edge 32 mm and height 72 mm is resting on its base in HP with one of its base edges parallel to VP. It is interpenetrated by a square prism, of diagonal 32mm and 64mm long with its two base edges equally inclined to the ground and is resting on the ground on one of its side edge. The diagonals bisect at 16 mm from the base. The axis of the prism is 12mm towards the right of the axis of the pyramid and is perpendicular to the VP. Draw the top view of the solids showing profile of interpenetration. Assume symmetrical interpenetration. 1 grid = 4mm, (Follow 3rd angle method of projection). Q.3 A pentagonal pyramid of base 200mm and height 275mm is resting on the ground with one base edge parallel to xy-line and away from the
observer. It is completely interpenetrated by a
square prism of base edge length 100mm and has all the rectangular faces equally inclined to the ground. The axis of the square prism is parallel to both HP and VP and it is 100mm above base of pentagonal pyramid at 50mm nearer to the observer than the axis of the pyramid. Draw the projection of the solid. Draw the interpenetration profile and trim the lines which have lost identity due to interpenetration. Height of the prism is 450mm and it is symmetrical with respect to axis of pyramid. (Solve in 3rd Quadrant)
