Gab Marcotti sits down with Bayern manager Carlo Ancelotti to discuss his transi

Here are the latest stories for Monday.

BAYERN MUNICH: Carlo Ancelotti has spoken exclusively to ESPN FC and says there
was no need for a major overhaul when he replaced Pep Guardiola as Bayern Munich
manager last year.
- Ancelotti also paid tribute to current Chelsea boss Antonio Conte, while also
admitting he is slightly envious of Arsene Wenger's longevity at Arsenal and tip
ping Paul Clement to succeed in management.

FIFA: Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Antoine Griezmann are hoping to be cro
wned The Best in Monday's rebranded FIFA awards.
- Barcelona star Messi will not be present at The Best FIFA Football Awards on M
onday, the Catalan club have confirmed.
- FIFA is set to make the World Cup bigger and richer, even if the price to pay
is lower-quality football.

BARCELONA: Luis Enrique conceded that Barcelona are now relying on Real Madrid t
o slip up after they fell five points behind Zinedine Zidane's side at the top o
f La Liga.
- Luis Enrique has knocked back claims which emerged from Croatia on Sunday sugg
esting Ivan Rakitic is on the verge of a move to Manchester City.

REAL MADRID: Zinedine Zidane has revealed "new talents" as a manager, and has ha
ndled Cristiano Ronaldo better than his Real Madrid predecessor Rafael Benitez.
That's the opinion of his former France international teammate Bixente Lizarazu.

CHELSEA: Antonio Conte insisted that John Terry did not deserve to be sent off i
n Sunday's FA Cup third-round tie against Peterborough, and suggested that Chels
ea will appeal their captain's red card.
- Kurt Zouma said his first Chelsea appearance for 11 months was a "proud and am
azing moment".

ARSENAL: Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil says he wants to know whether Arsene Weng
er is staying on as manager before deciding whether to sign a contract extension

- Torino's claim that Arsenal made a bid of 55 million for striker Andrea Belotti
has been disputed in north London.
- Olivier Giroud has told Telefoot is "on the verge" of reaching an agreement wi
th Arsenal to extend his contract.
- Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin will be assessed on Monday to determine the s
everity of an ankle injury that kept him out of Saturday's FA Cup win over Prest
on North End, with the club hopeful it is only a short-term problem.
- Arsenal midfielder and United States under-23 international Gedion Zelalem is
nearing a move to Borussia Dortmund, sources close to the player have told ESPN
FC.

MAN UNITED: Paul Scholes has said Manchester United could be back in the Premier
League title race if they defeat Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday.
- Eric Bailly said he'd relish the chance to play alongside of Victor Lindelof a
t Manchester United should the club make a move to bring the defender in from Be
nfica during the winter window.
- Wayne Rooney is the "go-to guy" in the Manchester United dressing room, accord
ing to teammate Phil Jones.
- Jose Mourinho has said Marcus Rashford could break Wayne Rooney and Bobby Char
lton's all-time scoring record for the club one day.

LIVERPOOL: Jurgen Klopp has said Philippe Coutinho should be fit enough to take
a place in Liverpool's squad for Wednesday's EFL Cup semifinal first leg with So
uthampton.
- RB Leipzig have said midfielder Emil Forsberg, a reported Liverpool target, wi
ll not be leaving the Zentralstadion in the transfer window.
- Liverpool will demand 20 million for out-of-favour defender Mamadou Sakho and w
ant to do a permanent deal in the January window, a source has told ESPN FC.

MAN CITY: Pep Guardiola has taken responsibility for Manchester City's struggles

this season and asked for patience as he tries to adapt his ideas to English fo
otball.

TOTTENHAM: Eric Dier has warned his Tottenham Hotspur teammates that they will l
ook back with regret if they do not win a trophy with the current squad.

SOUTHAMPTON: Jose Fonte has been left out of the Southampton squad to face Liver
pool in the EFL Cup semifinals on Wednesday, amid speculation that the Saints ca
ptain is set to leave the club this month.

CRYSTAL PALACE: Crystal Palace have had a 10 million bid for Norwich's Robbie Bra
dy rejected, sources close to the Premier League club have told ESPN FC.

SWANSEA: Swansea City head coach Paul Clement has told Wales Online that Bayern
Munich that defender Holger Badstuber "could do a good job" for the club but may
not be a realistic target.

PSG: One of the two agents representing Paris Saint-Germain's Jese Rodriguez has
said his client does not see his future with the French champions.

LIGUE 1: Didier Drogba has told Canal+ he hopes to "keep my promise" and return
to Marseille one day.

INTER MILAN: Stevan Jovetic, who appears set to leave Inter Milan in the window,
has accused the club of not giving him a fair chance. Jovetic is reported to be
in talks with Sevilla over a move to Spain and was again left out of the Inter
side at Udinese on Sunday.

JUVENTUS: Patrice Evra could be about to leave Juventus with the Serie A club's
general manager, Beppe Marotta, confirming the France full-back is considering h
is future.
- Paulo Dybala won't be leaving Juventus, according to the club's chief executiv
e Giuseppe Marotta, who played down reported links to Real Madrid and Barcelona.

BUNDESLIGA: Borussia Dortmund attacker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been voted

best outfield player of the Bundesliga season so far by his fellow players.
- Paul-Georges Ntep is hoping to emulate Bundesliga stars Franck Ribery and Pier
re-Emerick Aubameyang after completing his move from Rennes to Wolfsburg on Mond
ay.

- Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez does not plan to leave Bayer Leverkusen in Janua
ry.

MLS: Seattle Sounders general manager Garth Lagerwey says he remains optimistic
that forward Clint Dempsey will be ready to participate in the opening of traini
ng camp later this month, but otherwise struck a cautious tone as it related to
the forward's recovery from an irregular heartbeat.
