Properly fitting a helmet (Scoring Rubric)

Skill/Concept

1-The helmet fit snugly around all


parts of the players head and there
were no gaps between pads and face
2-It should cover base of the skull
3-It should not come down over the
eyes. It should set approximately two
finger widths
4-The ear holes should match
5-It should not shift when manual
pressure is applied
6-It should not recoil on impact
7-The chin strap should be an equal
distance from the center of the
helmet. Straps must keep helmet
from moving up and down or side to
side
8-The cheek pads should fit snuggly
against sides of face
9-The face mask should be attached
securely to the helmet, allowing a
complete field of vision, and should
be positioned three finger widths
from the nose
10-Should check for needed air in
helmet pads
