Free smoke detectors for any senior who does not have one, installed by their volunteers.

A statewide program of the California Public Utilities Commission which provides free
specialized phone for individuals who have difficulty hearing, seeing, moving, remembering,

Providers of free weatherization of windows/doors (possibly including attic insulation);

ILACSD provides 24-hour recycling and household hazardous waste disposal information

JFS Fix-It Service
Provides free minor home safety repairs and modifications for seniors such as installation of
wireless doorbells, safety grab bars, hand rails, and smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.
They also fix leaky plumbing and can do minor electrical and carpentry work. Call (619)

SDG&E Energy Team
Provides energy efficiency/weatherization of windows and doors (possibly including attic
insulation), furnace repair/replacement, and refrigerator replacement. Serving all of San

Safe Homes Project SD & Imperial Counties Labor Council
Provides Security Doors and Lighting to qualified applicants. Some income limits and target

San Diego County Low Flush Toilet Program
Provides vouchers for $75 or $200 depending on model unit to purchase replacement
low-flush toilets and $175 vouchers for low water usage front loading washing machines.
