    Green Team Meeting Minutes November 3, 2016

    The Green Team held its 4th meeting of the school year on Thursday
    November 3, 2017! In attendance:
    (teachers) Mrs. Denning, Mr. Lyoo, Ms. Gerrick
    (students) see roster checklist, 14 students
    We opened the meeting by discussing the why of Green practices
    preserving our planet and the beautiful places. Figured out where the
    Amazon Rain forest was using a globe, equater, etc This was a
    preview discussion to watching a National Geographic Video on the
    Amazon Rainforest. Watching the movie we stopped to talk about how
    Big the Rainforest is, why this ecosystem is so important (life saving
    medicines, cancer drugs , habitat, etc), deforestation, animals found
    nowhere else on earth. We closed with a Turn and Talk: What can We
    do? Ideas: write letters, recycling (less trees needed for paper), go
    there to see this amazing space for ourselves.

    Next steps: No meeting next week


    Ask Ms. Logan about T shirts (i.e. wearing on green team days)
