Your Target
At the end of this activity, you will be keen at identifying and naming different
assessment methods used in the classroom.

interest in observing teachers assessment practices.
To hit your target, work your way through this steps.
Step 5: Reflect on your experience
.
Step 4: Confer with your FS teacher
your assessment list.
Step 3: Describe how each assessment
method was used, including your personal
observations.
Step 2: In your list, classify assessment methods
as to conventional and authentic/alternative.
Step 1: Observe at least three classes and make a list of
the assessment methods used by teachers.

Your Tools
As you visit schools and observe assessment practices in at least three classes,
document your observations using the activity forms provided for you in this book. For
your pen-and-paper test items, customize a table of specification, and prepare the test
material based on the prescriptions of the school where you do class observation.

It has right numbers of items (40 items).
It enhance their critical thinking as it is about
combition and permutation.

Oral questioning

It is used to measure the retention of the

learning of the students

DESCRIPTION OF HOW ASSESSMENT METHOD WAS
USED
( Please include your personnal observations and
comments below the description)

1.) Quiz( paper and pencil)

It is used to test the remembering skills of the

students. It only test the cognitive level.
As I
observed I saw some students who didn't knew how to
answer the test and they just copy in their seatmates
beacause the teacher in her doing.

2.) Asking true or false in

oral questioning

It is test the cognitive level of the students. As I

observed some students make trial and error im

students can't depends his/her answer.

Authentic Type

DESCRIPTION OF HOW ASSESSMENT METHOD WAS

USED
( Please include your personnal observations and
comments below the description)

1.) Making an output

(Create a polygon using
matching sticks)

It develops their creativity which involves

psychomotor skills. As I observed the teacher looked
around because the material is harmful. So she keeps
her eye on the students.

2.) Demonstration

It test the student's understanding and arouse their

curiosity. It is also used to give more understanding the
complicated concept.
I saw that they amazed on
demontration and make it by their own.

Your Analysis
1.) Was there a variety of assessment methods used by the teacher? How relevant
was/were the assessment methods used?
Yes, using variety of assessment methods are relevant for the teacher
to comply the different learning styles of he students. It is also enhance
each students weaknesses as we knew that they have strengths and
weaknesses.

2.) Do you think the expected students learning behaviours indicated in the
objectives were properly and appropriately assessed through those assessment
methods?
I think the expected student's learning behavior indicated in the object
were properly and appropriately assessed through specific assessment
method because the teacher planned well and validated the tools before
they used it. They sure that they used proper method in assessing their
objectives. I know they expert on choose it properly.

Your Reflections
Write your personal reflection of thoughts and feelings about the importance in the
use of appropriate assessment methods in the classroom, including what students

and teachers can gain from appropriate assessment tools. Share your reflection with
your FS teacher and classmates.

Appropriate Assessment Method are strategies, techniques, tools and

instrument for collecting information/data to determine the extent to which
the students dremontstrate the desired learning outcomes. It is important for
the teacher to effectively evaluate how well the students understand their
lesson and to ensure that the instruction is an-age appropriate level but
developmentally and academically. It also help them to identify the strenght
and weaknesses of their students to think appropriate treatment to develop
what to develop. Because wrong method that they'll use can affect their
student and they can't get the true and real data. The students also
confused on what they're doing.
