In 2006 Brad discovered a lump on his neck and it came back as
cancer. It had spread, so in November of that year he started chemo that lasted for six months. After 10 years with no sign of cancer, Brad thought they were in the clear, Brad was told he had AML which is acute myeloid leukemia. That was caused from the chemo he received in 2006. He to the U of M where he received 2 rounds of chemo and after the second round the doctors felt Brad needed a mental health break. They decided they couldnt wait any longer, so Brad had a bone marrow transplant and was hospitalized for 27 days which afterwords he spent 100 days in the hope lodge in Minneapolis. Although the AML is no longer there he still has CLL which continues to grow. He is also graft vs host, which is where the transplant is fighting with his 0wn marrow. He continues to try and work and his spirits are up, but tires easily. Please keep Brad and Rita in your prayers and if you can help in anyway please contact Susan Bratsch at 763-232-5370.
