Introduction
Gett, previously known as GetTaxi, is an Israeli-based startup that connects customers
with taxi drivers. Customers can order a cab either through the company's website, or by
using the company's GPS-based smartphone app. Gett currently operates in about 70
cities across Israel, Russia, United Kingdom and United States New York. The Gett app
was positively received by mobile users and technology blogs such
as TechCrunch and Mashable, and was often described as a revolutionary service. The
app was awarded the best application by Time Out Tel Aviv. Taxi drivers in Tel Aviv
were welcoming to the new service, but several taxi fleet owners have prohibited drivers
from using the application, fearing the competition.

NYC Taxi and Limousine Commission (TLC)

TLC licensees that are current and allowed to provide service are listed below. A licensee cannot
provide service unless BOTH the TLC license and DMV license (for drivers) and the DMV registration
(for vehicles) is in good standing. For New York State (NYS) licensed drivers and NYS registered
vehicles, you may confirm that the DMV license/registration is neither suspended nor revoked by
reviewing the NYS DMV.

What is the New York City Taxi & Limousine Commission?

The New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission (TLC), created in 1971, is the agency responsible
for licensing and regulating New York City's medallion (yellow) taxicabs, for-hire vehicles
(community-based liveries and black cars), commuter vans, paratransit vehicles (ambulettes) and
certain luxury limousines. The Commission's Board consists of nine members, eight of whom are
unsalaried Commissioners. The salaried Chair/Commissioner presides over regularly scheduled public
Commission meetings, and is the head of the agency, which maintains a staff of approximately 600
TLC employees assigned to various divisions and bureaus.

For-hire service must be arranged through a TLC-licensed base and performed by TLC-licensed drivers
in TLC-licensed vehicles.

Community Cars and Black Cars provide pre-arranged transportation throughout New York City. These
bases range in size from small, neighborhood-based operations to large fleet-type companies that
provide citywide service. Community Cars are required to offer passengers up-front flat fares.

Luxury Limousines provide pre-arranged premium transportation to clients throughout New York City.

Fees vary depending on the type of Business:

Livery Base - Application fee of $1,500 for a three (3) year license, in addition to Fingerprint fees per
officer with 10% or more shares or title holder.
Black Car or Luxury Base - Application fee of $1,500 for a three (3) year license, in addition
to Fingerprint fees per officer with 10% or more shares or title holder.

Paratransit - Application fee of $1,500 for a three (3) year license.

Commuter Van - Application fees of $550 for a two (2) year license.

Agent / Broker - Application fee of $500 for a one (1) year license.

Taximeter - Application fee of $500 for a one (1) year license.

TPEP Application fee of $500 for a one (1) year license.

LPEP Application fee of $500 for a one (1) year license.
