Complaint Procedure Against Counselors

These boards issue professional licenses for Marriage and Family Therapists, Social
Workers, and Psychologists. A complaint should be filed by anyone who believes that a
licensee, registrant or applicant has engaged in unprofessional conduct related to his or her
professional responsibilities. This should not be used to complain about IAC as whole.
Rather, this is to file a complaint about an individual who demonstrated incompetence,
negligence, neglected clients or otherwise failed to meet standards of care. In general, the
most effective complaints include documentation or first-hand information.
