State Bank of India (SBI) has announced recruitment for Probationary Officer (PO)
positions for the year 2017. There are 2,313 vacancies for which State Bank will be
conducting the selection process starting with the Preliminary Exam from 29th April
2017. The last date to register for this hiring process is 06th March 2017. The final
result is expected on 5th August 2017.
Vacancies
There are a total of 2313 vacancies declared this year, including all categories. These
are about 131 more than the previous year. The notable increase in number of vacancies
is for ST and HI category of candidates. Thus, this is a great opportunity for such
applicants to be recruited as Probationary Officers in SBI. However, going by the
number of applicants for various government exams in the last year, the competition for
each of these seats is only going to increase. The break up of vacancies as per category

Selection Process
The selection process of SBI Probationary Officers Examination consists of four
stages, i.e.
1.Preliminary exam: The Preliminary Exam consists of an objective test, which
is conduced online. Once the candidates qualify the Preliminary exam, they have
to appear for the Main Examination.
2.Main Exam: consists of two tests, i.e. Objective Test and Descriptive Test,
which are also conducted online.
