Portugal FA called Madrid: "They say

Cristiano injury is not serious"


Manager of the Portuguese national side, Fernando Santos, confirmed what the Real
Madrid medical team have stated to him about the seriousness of Cristiano's recent
injury.

Following Cristiano Ronaldo's recent injury scare - when he limped off against Villarreal
after feeling a tweak to his right hamstring - it's not only those connected to Real
Madrid that were worried. With the Euro Championships not far away, the Portugal
Federation were also keen to know what the situation was. So they called.
Manager of the national side, Fernando Santos, ensured his experts got in touch with
the medical team of the Madrid club to find out first hand how serious the injury was
to his star player. Speaking on Sport TV he revealed: "Our doctors at the Portuguese
Football Federation spoke with Real Madrid's medical experts to fully understand the
position. He [Ronaldo] will be getting test done on Thursday and a scan on Friday, but
everything so far indicates that his time out with be short."
Cristiano is not expected to play against Rayo this weekend with the plan to get him in
perfect shape for the Champions League semi-final first leg against Manchester City.
