FILAMENT RECYCLER

Phase III: DESIGN CALCULATION

After thinking and revising the mentioned design, the team will deliver and furnish the
design through the accurate measurements of each portion of the materials that will use on the
said project. These measurements will come from series of engineering calculations based on
some features or properties such as mechanical, electrical, chemical, thermal, ergonomic and
others.
For the extruder, some of the chemical reactions will be discussed at this phase. The
calculations of the flow rate of the recycled filaments shredded and melted that also occurred in
the extruder will also be presented. Design of gears, screws, nozzle and the shredder will also be
calculated together with its speed, as to provide with enough strength in the process of recycling
the filaments. Heat applied or simply the temperature needed for the melting of the filaments
shredded, losses in the motor and other parts of the machine, will also be discussed in this phase.
Others will be included at the Analytical Investigation part of the next chapter.
