Errol Spence: VP of Academic Affairs
By Jazmyne Pink
The life of a future Senator sounds great but what it takes
is a lot of commitment and hard work to reach the U.S.
Senate.
Originally from Brooklyn, NY but relocated to Suwanee,
GA in 2003. Errol began his undergraduate career as a
Freshman Senator, eager to make an impact on the Eagle
Nation and The Georgia Southern community. During his
time at Georgia Southern he has served in numerous roles
including being an SGA Senator for three years, a 2012 SOAR Leader, 2013 Homecoming
Duke, 2014 Homecoming King, Vice President of the Political Science Club, and a recipient of
the 2014 Southern Talon Leadership Award.
Spence started his journey to Vice President of Academic Affairs as a freshman in high school.
He was on the board of prestigious students whose duties and responsibilities were to bring up
the problems and concerns that the students have, and tell it to the leaders of the school. When he
came to Georgia Southern University in 2011 he knew that he wanted to proceed with his career
in SGA. He declared his major in his freshman year as as health policy and management.
Today, after graduating in spring 2015 with a degree in health policy and management, Spence
has had an internship that following summer in Washington, District of Columbia as a legislative
intern of the United States Senate. Spence has returned to Georgia Southern University as
Graduate Assistant for the College of Public Health and is still serving as the VP of Academic
Affairs.
Spence has cherished every opportunity that Georgia Southern has afforded him, and have thus
found himself fully immersed in the rich culture that we have. Please feel free to contact him
with any concerns via my georgiasouthern.edu email or in person, at the SGA Office or if you
spot him around campus. Spence enjoys meeting new Eagles and hearing about your experiences
here at Georgia Southern.
