To Whom It May Concern;
It is a pleasure to write a letter of recommendation for Jermon Cook. Jermon is a student in my Health and
Family Living Class at Merced High School. During his junior year he was a Link Leader for my Freshman
Advisory Class. I have known him since August 2013. I have also watched him as a student athlete as both
a football player and basketball player.
Jermon has many qualities that will enable him to be successful. He has maintained a good attendance
record. He is attentive and follows directions. He completes his assignments in a timely manner. He works
well on both individual and group projects, working effectively and cooperatively with fellow students. He is
an outgoing, positive young man. He is a strong student and strives to do his best in everything he sets out
to do: academics, athletics, personal life, etc. He is a leader among his peers. He has maintained a 3.24
GPA.
Jermon was a Link Crew member during his junior year. This program is designed to assist incoming
freshman to acclimate to the high school experience. He volunteered over 100 hours with Link Crew with
various activities: tutoring, freshman activities, lunchtime activities, and fundraising events. He has also
been a member of the Soccer Club. This club is for all students in support of the boys soccer team; they
help with fundraising efforts, team bonding and community service. Jermon also served as an assistant
Football Coach for the youth football league 4th-5th grade players.
Jermon is an amazing student athlete. He was a three year Varsity starter and team captain. This year he
earned the 2014 CCC Defensive Player of the Year. He has earned the Merced Sun-Star All-Area Athlete
two years in a row. In 2013 he was awarded the First Team All-Academics, First Team All-Conference
Linebacker and Honorable Mention Power Forward.
Jermon has the potential and the motivation to go far as he pursues his education. He is diligent and he
works well under pressure. He carries himself with confidence and a positive attitude. He is a kind and
compassionate young man. He plans on pursuing a career as a correctional officer or a school psychologist.
I sincerely believe he will be successful as he pursues either of these careers. His character and personality
will most definitely be beneficial. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
Sincerely,

Tammie Meyer
