To Whom It May Concern:

I am pleased to write this letter of recommendation for Trevor Anderson. Mr. Anderson is currently finishing
his counseling internship at Marshall Middle School. He has devoted the entire month of March to this
endeavor, and during the remainder of the year, he interned approximately 90 minutes per day. Additionally, Mr.
Anderson has worked in this building as a para-educator and coach for the past four years. During all of that
time, I have been his supervisor, and I recommend him completely for a counseling position in your building.

Mr. Anderson is a passionate and reliable employee. He came to the field of education with a lot of life
experience. This experience has led to a maturity that translates into a deep commitment to honing his passion
for working with kids. Once he decided to become a school counselor, he jumped in with both feet and has
never looked back. His 100% dedication is evident in the way he is present every day, ready to tackle the task
at hand and eager to learn as much as he can from all around him. The best example of this is that Mr.
Anderson was willing to take a one-month hiatus from work (requiring extra student loans) in order to get the
most out of the internship experience as possible. This has afforded him the opportunity to visit other
counseling programs in our district, serve as a counseling substitute, and of course, see the ins and outs of the
counseling job on a daily basis. And through it all, Mr. Anderson is incredibly reliable and makes his dedication
evident by the number of questions he asks and the level to which he applies himself to any task.

Mr. Anderson cares deeply for students and wants to ensure every single one of them has every opportunity
afforded them. This particular passion has led him to focus on working with low income families to get 100% of
8th AND 7th graders signed up for the College Bound Scholarship. He has also worked closely with our AVID
teacher and AVID students as well as the high school counselors through the high school transition process in
order to learn every aspect of preparing students for their future in order to help them all be ready for post-high
school opportunities. He has mentioned on multiple occasions that he is especially passionate about this
aspect of the job due to his own life opportunities (or lack thereof).

Finally, Mr. Anderson develops strong relationships with students and staff. Students trust him to help guide
them through their "drama" and staff thoroughly enjoy working with him. As a para, Mr. Anderson worked
primarily with our low-cognitive students in a self-contained program. He also has coached wrestling and
soccer. Through these various positions, he has proven that he can work with ALL students equally well. He is
an adept communicator, an excellent listener, and someone who can be trusted with all issues of
confidentiality. He can also be trusted to do anything he says he will do.

I recommend Mr. Anderson without reservation for a counseling position in your school. He is a fast learner
who asks questions when he needs to know more about something, and he is a pleasure to have on staff.
Please call me if you have further questions: 360-596-7605.

Sincerely,
~u)~

To Whom it May Concern:

It is with great honor and respect that I submit a letter of recommendation for Trevor Anderson in his pursuit of a
school counseling position. I've worked with Trevor for the past two years at Marshall Middle School where I am the
Assistant Principal. He has worked in the capacity of a DLC para-professional, coach for soccer and wrestling, and
most recently as a counseling intern.

Trevor is articulate, insightful, and cares deeply about the students and his profession. He has taken on the role of
School Counseling Intern with vigor! He is well advanced with working with public school students and his ability to
smoothly and professionally take on the role of a school counselor is admirable. He has fully participated in all aspects
of a school counselor's duties - academic, college/career, and social-emotional. Thanks to Trevor, our school has been
recognized for signing up 100% of our students for the College Bound Scholarship. He also collaborated with our
high school counselors and has presented college and career readiness with our entire 8th-grade class. He will
continue this work as he coordinates the online course selection process as they prepare to enter high school. Trevor
has also been involved with our AVID program, inspiring our 6th - 8th-grade students with college and career
planning. He recently took the lead on arranging a college visit to UW Tacoma for the AVID students.

Trevor has provided social-emotional counseling with students individually and with groups of students. He is adept at
helping our students who experience challenges and is comfortable communicating with families. He is
compassionate and kind, insightful and professional in his work. We are fortunate to have Trevor in our building as he
brings a positive and upbeat vibe! Trevor is comfortable taking risks and jumping right into his work, as evident by
I

the amount of work he has done as our counseling intern. Additionally, he has coached both girls and boys soccer for
the past three years at Marshall and was instrumental in reviving our Wrestling program this year. He is determined to
provide a positive experience for all kids.

Trevor is a crucial team member on our PBIS Tier 2 Intervention team. Along with his school counseling supervisor,
myself and several staff members, we dive into our academic and behavioral data to determine our Tier 2 students. He
actively participates with the PLC team in determining appropriate academic interventions relative to student learning
barriers (mental health, cognitive functioning, social/emotional, homelife, etc). Trevor competently and comfortably
works with academically and behaviorally diverse student populations.

I believe that Trevor Anderson will make an immediate difference for the students, teachers, parents, and the
community in which he works. He is a valuable asset to have on your team and I highly recommend him for a school
counseling position.

To Whom It May Concern,

Without reservation, I would like to take this opportunity to formally recommend Trevor Anderson for the
position of School Counselor. As a teacher and counselor over the last twenty years, I have successfully worked
and served with many educators and leaders within the Olympia School District. In my professional opinion,
Trevor is one of the strongest, most talented individuals I have had the honor of working alongside. I have had the
opportunity of working closely with Trevor, and would like to inform you of his leadership abilities, dedication,
and most importantly, his character.

It is immediately clear to all that have the privilege of interacting with Trevor that he is a resilient, consistent, fair,
and compassionate person. Trevor leads with integrity, leads from the front where all can see him, makes a
difference in the lives of those around him, and consistently and efficiently translates his intentions into actions.
While serving with Trevor, I have always been impressed with his abilities as an effective counselor, and future
leader.

As a future counselor and leader, Trevor will have the opportunity expand his life of leadership and service to
others, by continuing to build positive and powerful relationships. Trevor genuinely cares about the people with
whom he serves. He has high standards.for himself, and sets clear examples for faculty, staff, and colleagues. His
desire to do what is best for all, and his drive for excellence, will serve him well in any future counselor position.
Trevor will make a difference in the lives of all district members and stakeholders, and he is truly a person of
integrity.
