To Whom It May Concern;

It is a pleasure to write a letter of recommendation for Patrick Armendarez. Patrick is a
student in the FHA-HERO club at Merced High in which I am an advisor. I have known
him since October 2013.

Patrick is an outgoing and friendly young man. Patrick competed in the commercial
foods event which is a team event. This competitive event requires three students to
work together to prepare a meal. It is imperative they have good communication,
listening skills, productivity and consistency. His team placed at the regional level and
went on to compete at the state level in Riverside against twenty other teams.

Patrick has been involved with the Key Club for three years. Key Club is a student-led
organization which provides its members with opportunities to provide service, build
character and develop leadership. He has assisted with fundraising and community
service. He has also been in FFA for three years; assisting with fundraising, team
building activities, leadership activities and community service. Patrick has volunteered
at Mercy Hospital for the last two years. He has assisted in the cafeteria and in the
lobby greeting guests. Patrick has served our community with over 150 volunteer
hours.

Patrick is also a student athlete; managing to balance attendance, academics and
practice. He has been on the varsity boys tennis team all four years. This sport not
only requires team effort, but a tremendous amount of individual effort.

Patricks favorite subject is science. He plans on pursuing a degree in marine science
and biology. He has applied to CSU Monterey Bay. This location will be ideal for him to
pursue his studies. Patrick is a hard-working and positive young man. I believe he will
succeed in his future as he pursues his education and future career. If you have any
