Dear Interview Committee,

Please accept the following as my application for the Physical and Health Education teaching
position at your school. What my resume does not show is my passion and dedication in the
effort to ensure that every student receives high quality and effective educational experience
every single day. I have a strong belief that all students can be successful, and I want to help
ensure that. I am enthusiastic about this opportunity to showcase my knowledge that I have
built the past four years at Springfield College. I have a lot to offer and feel passionately about
bringing progressive ideas to your Wellness department. My Physical Education, Health
Education, and Family Consumer Sciences licensure is pending as I wrap up my teaching
practicum. I will be certified in these subject area’s Pre-K-12. I believe I am qualified because
over the past four years I have had an abundance of teaching experiences. I am confident that I
possess the qualifications needed to promote the educational philosophy and goals of your
district.

I am currently finishing my teaching practicum at Roger L. Putnam Vocational Technical


Academy in Springfield, MA. I have had the responsibility of creating and teaching lessons,
collaborating with other staff, and meeting with students' parents/guardians. Outside of this
role, I am a substitute teacher, babysitter, and serve as a nanny throughout the summer. I have
experience with children, teens, and young adults in all different social situations. As a collegiate
two sport athlete, combined with coaching youth sports, I have a desire to coach at the
middle/high school level. These opportunities have enabled me to develop strong
communication, interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills. It has also allowed me to
cultivate a supportive learning environment and reinforce your school's core values and beliefs.

I feel very confident that my skill set will help me to provide the strong instructional leadership
that is necessary to help sustain and enhance our students. I would appreciate the opportunity
to meet with you to further discuss how my diverse skills and experience will allow me to make a
