Dear whom this letter may concern,
I am writing this letter regarding the Special needs Aid position at Leveretts Chapel
Elementary School listed on the Region 7 website. I feel as if this position would fit all of my
personal and academic interests and I would be highly qualified for this position.
During my last two years of High School I have worked as a student intern in an
Elementary School in McKinney Texas through a program called Principles of Education and
Training. Over the two year period I have conducted several lesson plans, advised students on
their social or school-related behaviors, and conducted classroom management through my
teaching skills. For example, I have created a lesson over folk talks and the importance of them
in modern society. In order to receive the appropriate audience, I had the students discuss the
objective of the day and the reasons they believed it was important to learn about folk tales,
directing their attention towards me and allowing more attentive and engaging instruction. I
believe it is important for students to understand what their goal of the day is before starting any
type of academic project or lesson. In addition, I believe every student learns at a different rate
and style, and my form of teaching would bring upon multiple learning methods and student
Involvement. In the period I've been teaching, I have also been working with my cousin who is a
special needs child. I have had involvement with him over the past 7 years, and I believe I help
him understand how to do life-skill tasks and important everyday responsibilities. I have gained
many qualities of a successful teacher over the past couple years and the social, flexible, and
organizational skills that go along with being a successful and admirable educator.
Reading your job position qualifications has made me realize how well this job fits my
personality and my ability to work with children and special needs children. My involvement
with my High School Education and Training Program has taught me all the necessary skills to
cope with individual behavior management and modifying lessons, therefore, I believe I could
bring out the most in each childs academic leaning experience and help every individual be
successful at the highest level possible.
