To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing this letter on behalf of Mr. Jordan Crowley and it is a pleasure and privilege to do
so. I became acquainted with Jordan this year, as he is a student in my English class. He is
highly motivated, organized and very responsible. He works hard to maintain his high GPA of
4.04 and he has almost never missed a day of school.
Jordan has a warm and genuine personality and he communicates and works well with others.
He always demonstrates his competence, energy and commitment to others in every task he
undertakes. Along with Jordans rigorous high school schedule, he donates his extra time to the
El Capitan Band, he participates in campus clubs, and he takes classes at Merced College. He
has been the Drum Major for the El Capitan Band for the past three years. In that time, the band
has grown to over 100 members. As a result, he has excelled as a leader. He is also an active
participant in the Yosemite Forensics League (YFL) which functions under a much larger group
called the National Speech and Debate Association (NSDA). The Forensics Club involves much
of his time, as he meets three days a week during lunch to practice with his teammates and
attends several competitions throughout the school year. Most impressive, is his dedication to
acquiring his Associates Degree from Merced College. He takes college classes in conjunction
with his required high school courses. By the time he graduates from El Capitan High School, he
will also have his Associates Degree from Merced College in Health Sciences.
Jordan is a bright young man with a bright future. His goal is to attend medical school and
become a Cardiothoracic Surgeon. If anyone deserves a scholarship and the opportunity to attend
college, its Jordan Crowley. I believe that Jordan should be at the top of any group of applicants,
