University of Florida.
On July 28, 2005, Robert Meredith Harper was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This is
what started my love for the University of Florida. I was destined to be a Florida graduate from
the start. Also, both my parents attended the University to get their undergraduate degrees. Also,
my Aunt Ali, Aunt Laura, Aunt Emily, Aunt Katy, Uncle Will, and Uncle Scott all attended the
University of Florida. I have been on the campus too many times to count. I have been to football
games, basketball games, baseball games, basketball camps, and walked all around the campus.
This is a really hard school to get into, however, I will work very hard to achieve my dream.
One of the many reasons I would like to attend Florida is because of their high education
standards. The University of Florida is ranked number 6 in all public colleges in the nation.
(“US News”) This is based on their performance across a set of widely accepted indicators of
excellence. Also, Florida has a student-to-faculty ratio of 17:1. (“US News”) This means that
for every 17 students there is 1 teacher. This will greatly help me out because I will receive more
direct help from teachers and get more 1-on-1 time with teachers. Furthermore, the acceptance
rate at Florida is 37%. (“US News”) That is based on the 2019 fall acceptance rate. Although
this may seem low, based on other schools in the top of 10 public schools, it is quite a high
acceptance rate. Finally, although this is not an incredibly low acceptance rate this will make the
school more prestigious that I went there and help me apply for better job opportunities.

The next reason I would attend Florida is the atmosphere on the campus. The University
of Florida has a campus of around 2000 acres. (“UFL”) This is a large campus that will make
me want to stay there and also is home to many fun activities. Next Florida is home to the Ben
Hill Griffin Stadium. This very huge football stadium is able to hold around 88,000 people at
one time. (“UFL”) The games at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, otherwise known as the “swamp,” are
like no other. I have had the privilege of already being able to attend one there and the stadium is
breathtaking. Finally, at the University of Florida, there are more than 37 fraternities.
(GreekRank) It has always been a dream of mine to be in a fraternity with other members of the
campus. This will overall make my college experience more joyful and entertaining.
The final reason I would want to attend Florida is because of its manageable academic
requirements. At Florida, the average GPA for a student is 4.42 (“Prep Scholar”) This may
seem quite hard however if I just pay attention and work hard I believe this is manageable. Next,
the average SAT score is 1350-1400. (“UFL”) This is definitely manageable, and I believe that
if I study really hard for the SAT I could get around a 1500 score. This is considering I have
already taken the SAT in 8th grade and got an award for my score. Finally, the average ACT at
Florida is anywhere from 27-32. (UFL) This is definitely a hard score to obtain however I do
believe it is manageable considering the ACT includes a science section which I believe will
help me. These are all the reasons I would like to attend the University of Florida.
This college will benefit me tremendously in the future because of its prestige. The
University of Florida is known around the world for its great reputation of putting out leaders in
the community. These leaders include Tim Tebow, Abby Wambach, Marco Rubio, Emmett
Smith, and Steve Spurrier. This will help me when applying for jobs because people will know I
am a leader and have a high work ethic as a Florida graduate. It will also help me because of how

there are many important people with connections to the University. This will help me be known
in the work community and help me get a respectable job. Overall, the University of Florida is
