To Whom it May Concern:

I had the pleasure of coaching Sophia Skorupski throughout her career at Morris Hills.
Throughout her four years on the girls cross country and track & field teams, I’ve watched her grow into
a confident high school student-athlete who takes on any challenge that is thrown her way. She was one
of the top students and athletes on my team and has set the standard of academic and athletic excellence
for her peers. Her work ethic is always of the highest quality and never hesitates to help fellow
teammates. She is a leader on the team. Every teacher and coach has a few kids that leave a lasting impact
on them and Sophia is one of those types of student-athletes. She is going to change lives someday as an
educator. She has that special gift we want all educators to have. The gift to connect with a wide variety
of students and help them reach their full potential.

Sophia is a talented student and will be one of the finest teachers and coaches in the future. It
isn’t very often I meet a student-athlete that I’m certain will make a great educator and impact students
someday. Her commitment to her teammates is amazing. She may not be the fastest runner or even a
varsity athlete at times but she is the heart and soul of our team. I wish I had 100 Sophia’s on my team.
Over the last few years, I have seen her grow as a student-athlete and young adult. Our team does not
have any success let alone operate without Sophia leading her teammates. She constantly puts forth
amazing work. She is always active and leading team drills, which is a great help. Each year she has been
on the team she has progressed and gotten better. She was voted as one of the captains of the team this
year as well. She has been a captain for me all three seasons. Her senior year she has practically been an
extra assistant coach. That is how much we trust her. She is an insightful, hardworking, and a highly
motivated individual that has a bright future. I have seen her become more serious and involved in her
athletics and studies each year. I am excited to see what is next for Sophia.

Outside of my class, Sophia is a very active member in the Morris Hills High School Community.
She has been a member of our cross country and indoor & outdoor track & field teams all four years. On
top of all the other activities she also manages to work part time at the local ice cream shop. She
understands the value of hard work and what it takes to be successful. She is constantly making Morris
Hills High School a better place each day. As I stated earlier, she is an excellent student and leader here at
Morris Hills HS.

I am certain Sophia is going to continue to do great things in her future. It seems no stage is too
big for her to handle. I know she will make an impact wherever she goes throughout her life. I highly
recommend her. She is so caring, intuitive, and dedicated to her pursuits. As I have stated she is a
standout student who will impress everyone she meets. She truly is a special student that has already
affected this school greatly in many good ways. I look forward to seeing what she will do in the next
chapter of her life once she graduates this year. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions at
