To Whom It May Concern:

I am privileged to write this letter of recommendation in support of my student, Desiree Zuniga.
I have known Desiree for several years; however, I feel very fortunate to have her this year as a
student in my English class at Merced High School. I have witnessed her tremendous growth
and development, academically and personally. It is with much pleasure and sincerity that I
write this letter on her behalf.

Desiree has proven to be a wonderful young woman. She is intelligent, respectful, and honest.
She possesses many strong personal qualities and displays an excellent commitment to her
education. She has done well in her classes overall and has demonstrated that she is a dedicated
student and an independent worker. She is also very outgoing and interacts with other students
in a positive manner. She does her best at any task put before her. In addition to Desirees
academic accomplishments, she has been actively involved in extra-curricular activities on
campus and within our community. She currently serves as a Link Crew Leader on campus in
which she works with our freshmen students to guide and mentor them as they transition into the
daily rigor of high school. Desiree has been involved with our softball and volleyball teams as
well. She has also been very involved in community service and has volunteered many hours
working with other students, local organizations, and needy children. Desirees academic
achievement, work ethic, community service, and inspirational character qualities undoubtedly
account for her continued success.

As a teacher, it is my job to not only teach the curriculum, but to also try and teach our youth
how to be productive citizens. Desiree knows the importance of education and the reward of
strong personal character. I have no doubt that Desiree will continue to rise to any challenge that
she faces in college and beyond. It has sincerely been a pleasure for me to know Desiree and be
her teacher; therefore, it is with absolute confidence that I recommend her.
