To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing to recommend Lana Albasri for the leadership scholarship

through your organization. Lana and her family were resettled as
refugees by World Relief Nashville and I invited her to attend the
Journey after-school program to get academic and social support. As
the Site Coordinator of the Journey Overton after-school program, I
have had the pleasure of knowing Lana for two years. She began
attending the Journey program as a junior in high school, and I have
been so impressed with her as I have witnessed her grow and mature.

Lana is one of the most motivated students I have ever had the
privilege of serving. She sees her education as a gateway into her
future and will work tirelessly to ensure her own success. When she
attends the Journey program, Lana is highly focused and determined to
use her time to finish her homework. She knows when to ask for help
and asks good questions. On the rare occasion that she has free time
during the program, Lana is great at interacting with American
volunteers who come to assist students. She speaks freely of her
country and future goals, while reciprocating questions asked to her.
Lana is so pleasant and considerate when engaging others.

While Lana is committed to her own future success, she also has a
passion for her community. Lana is highly involved as a participant in
many school clubs, as well as a volunteer in the local community. She
has taken initiative to find opportunities to serve that speak to her own
interests and passions, such as the Science Olympiad Club and the
Overton Book Club.

I would recommend Lana Albasri for a scholarship without hesitation.

She is already accepting into Libscomb University and holds much
potential for success. Lana leads with a quiet strength and much
positivity. She effortlessly maintains the respect of both adults and her
peers. Please consider her as a strong candidate to receive this award.

Sincerely,
