Maximizing the Mentee-Mentor Relationship helps emerging clinical and translational


investigators navigate the complexities of the mentoring dynamic. Emphasizing the
perspective of the mentee, this two-day course explores strategies for successful
mentoring relationships through case studies, lectures, and interactive sessions. Each
session addresses critical issues such as expectations and responsibilities, pitfalls and
challenges, and communication and career development. Participants will learn practical
tools for empowering their own mentee-mentor relationships, and discuss the impact these
relationships can have on both personal and academic success.

Course Goals:

Understanding the value of strong mentee-mentor relationships in career development


Identifying professional and personal needs and how they inuence mentoring
relationships
Learning skills to become an empowered mentee
Understanding the particular perspectives of the mentee in clinical and translational
research, and team science
Exploring challenges that arise in the mentee-mentor relationship and discussing
strategies to approach these issues
Navigating the transition from mentee to mentor

Harvard Catalyst Education Program's policy requires full attendance and the completion
of all activity surveys to be eligible for CME credit; no partial credit is allowed.

The Harvard Catalyst Education Program is accredited by the Massachusetts Medical


Society to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
