Learning Outcomes

In this essay, I will provide evidence that I have met the course

learning outcomes for Advance Public Speaking. These learning outcomes

address the principles of ethical public presentations using macrostructure.

The course Big Questions address the need for understanding what

makes a persuasive speech effective, the ethical implications of our

speeches, and what role public speaking plays in creating better social

worlds. As evidenced by my section on these important questions, I have

engaged in learning this material and putting it to use in my classwork.

I have learned how to deliver a public speech that uses the

macrostructure form of organizing my speeches. Each speech I have

prepared has an introduction, body, and conclusion. The body is made up of

main points and sub points, with relevant evidence for each point. My thesis

is clearly stated. This is important because a speech should be easy to follow

and clearly state your purpose. It should have excellent supporting evidence

to provide credibility and ensure that the material is ethical. I have provided

this ethical information in all of my speeches. My sources are listed and I use

them in the body of the speech.

In my speeches, I use personal stories and examples to provide

credibility and an understanding of my subject. My statistics were relevant to

the audience.

In conclusion, through taking this course, I have learned how to

prepare an effective persuasive speech with ethical evidence and

information that will be relevant to the audience. I have learned to use

macrostructure to help the speech have an organized and clear flow and

presentation.
