27-HOUR CLOSURE ON SUNDAY MARCH 12

27 Hours: The following closures will go into effect

starting at 3 am March 12 and will re-open at 6 am
March 13:
REDD RD.
I-10 Eastbound will be completely closed after Redd
Road. Trafc will be detoured at the Redd Road Exit
(Exit 9) and onto Doniphan Drive (SH 20). Follow the
detour signs in place.
North Mesa Street (SH 20) in both directions will be
completely closed at the I-10 Overpass. Follow the
detour signs in place.
South Desert Boulevard frontage road will be closed to
E.
RN AV through-trafc between Redd Road and Thorn Avenue,
THO and completely closed to all trafc after Thorn Avenue.

 TRAFFIC PATTERN SWITCH AFTER
27-HOUR CLOSURE

During the 27-hour closure, crews will demolish the I-10 Eastbound Overpass (shaded in red) and they will
re-stripe the eastbound lanes, placing traffic on the newly constructed median (shown with the arrows).

By 6 am on March 13, the intersection will be restored and open to traffic, except I-10 Eastbound traffic will
be switched over onto the median of the I-10 Overpass. The switch to the median will stay in place for at
least four months while crews re-build the new and improved I-10 Eastbound Overpass.

This work normally takes days to complete, but crews will be working hard to complete it in 27 hours and
on a Sunday in an effort to minimize impacts to motorists and businesses.

Motorists should avoid the intersection on March 12 by using alternate routes such as Transmountain (Loop 375).
Motorists who cannot avoid the intersection should follow the detour signs in place.
