Dialectical Journal for ED 335 Teaching Practicum

Observations/ Account
(What Happened?)
I arrived SPH at 7 am. I met with the
principal and the director of SPH.
I met with my cooperating teacher in her
class.
When I went into the class, she was
teaching mathematics.
The class was really organized and
disciplined.
First, the teacher was teaching the
content knowledge.
And she provided a paper that needed to
cut and stick on their notebook.
On that paper, there were questions that
asked about what theyve just learned.
Teacher checked their understanding and
guided the answers for these questions.
Since these questions are for notebook,
teacher made sure that all have same
answers and notes.
Then, she gave them worksheet paper for
table work. So while students were doing
their worksheet paper, she was walking
around the class and assisted their work
by answering their question.
For those who done with their worksheet,
teacher asked them to do the silent
reading, and finish their morning work.

I really like the way she taught her math
class.
She is really experienced and great
teacher.
I can see the students were really
disciplined and love their teacher with
respect.
I was encouraged by her to teach
mathematics during my teaching
practicum.
I think she could improve her delivery skills
because some students seemed that they
did not fully understand.
And I think she need help to assist students
while students were doing their paperwork.
And she didnt get enough time to explain
them each student one by one.
But I think she covered the whole class very
well.
If I was having this same problem during my
practicum, I will ask students to make a
mark the problem that they want to ask. I
will set a time for asking questions, at that
time I will explain them altogether.
