(What Happened?)
Today is my second day of teaching
practicum.
I taught mathematics for 40 minutes.
Before my teaching, my cooperating
teacher did devotion.
I taught Bar Graphs & line plots.
Basically, I taught them how to interpret
the given data and draw it on the line
plots.
First of all, I checked their homework. I
asked one random student for each
question to share their answer.
And the rest of the student checked their
answer and if they were correct they
showed thumbs up to me.
Then, I taught them the new chapter
13.2. They had work paper for their notes
as usual.
After sticking their notes on their
notebook, I gave them worksheet for
table work.
While they were doing their worksheet,
my cooperating teacher and I, we
monitoring them, assisting their work by
answering their question.
When the bell rang for snack break, I
ended the class by giving them
homework.

I felt more comfortable with my teaching
this time.
I made engagement with my students.
For example, when I checked their
homework I asked each of them to share
their answer to a class. In order to use
this strategy, I had to memorize all of
their names and called them one by one.
And I asked them to make engagement
with me by showing their thumbs up if
their answers are correct.
This is what I did well in my teaching.
One thing that I need to improve is time
management.
I think I spent half of my time on
checking their answers and explaining
why the answer is right or wrong.
I spent the time much more than I should
because I was trying my best for those
who were slow learners in mathematics.
On the other hand, some of the students
were sitting on their seat without doing
anything but waiting for others.
Next time, I could have been prepared a
worksheet for those who went ahead
than others.
