Lesson Objective: Second grade students will learn the difference between even and odd
numbers using technology as a tool.Students will also learn math using literature as a part the
lesson. They would also do activities that are related to even and odd number and they will
learn all that using UBI.

Short Description: First we would start our new math concept with literature so the kids can see
that reading is used in every subject, and it would be an engaging way to hook them. We would
use the book, Even Steven and Odd Todd, but we would also want to show the kids that we
can incorporate technology into every subject, so we would read the book through You
Tube.Afterwards we discuss, and the kids predict /infer what the difference of the two characters
was. Then we would, make an anchor chart. Write down 1-10, make the amount of dots next to
the number. Next we would determine whether it is an even or an odd number. This group
activity will prepare the kids to begin working on their own on worksheets and activities.
