Language Arts Lesson 3 Rating Scale

Never Sometimes Usually Always

The student used revision

and editing symbols.
The student collaborated
with a peer to edit work.
The student used different
colors to revise and edit
work.

This scoring guide will score the use of revision and editing

symbols. The students have used these symbols before in their

daily language activities.

This scoring guide would be appropriate for Shawn and he

does not need a differentiated scoring guide. He is familiar with

the different symbols and is able to use them correctly. Because

he does better when someone reads to him the area targeting

collaboration will be a benefit to him.

Samantha, the other student that I observed, will be able to

be scored with the regular scoring guide as well as she does well

with revising and editing. She makes some mistakes, but for the

most part she understands the process.
