COMPANY HISTORY
Brief history of YONEX
1946
The YONEX philosophy is founded by "a motor."

In 1946, after World War II, YONEX established using a single one
horsepower motor. After mixing timber manufacturing technology, YONEX
badminton racket to begin production in 1957, 1969, YONEX embark on a
tennis racket made of aluminum, and then in 1982, YONEX began to
produce golf clubs and raw carbon material. Today, YONEX's businesses
include snowboarding, sports shoes, soccer suits, sport bike, the wind
turbine blade industry. It has not been the company's 60-year history in
the process easy ride. YONEX learned that "under the most difficult
circumstances, to make the greatest opportunity." This spirit will be YONEX
through all needed to make the next 100 years of successful challenges
faced.

Yoneyama Minoru founds Yoneyama, Co., Ltd., manufacturer of wood

floating nets. His wooden craft business is booming until modern progress
- that is plastic buoy - float forced the company out of business. At this
time, while pushing frustrated by advanced technology, Yoneyama vowed
never to leave technology. So he began, eventually leading to a golf
course, tennis courts, badminton world commitment to innovation. Relying
on the advantages of wood handmade, Yoneyama company will develop
into other brands manufactured in 1957 badminton racket.

FEATURES
NANOSCIENCE: Yonex Nanoscience achieves precise control over racquet functions at the
molecular level. It establishes a high-performance molecular bond of the fullerene and
carbon nano-particles, creating an ultra-lightweight racquet that's thinner, stronger and
more stable than an ordinary racquet for maximum power and speed from swing energy.

X-FULLERENE: X-Fullerene is used in the resin which bonds the Carbon fibres and creating
the cross-link construction. The tenfold increase in binding force makes it possible to
create 5% higher repulsion and 15% greater stability.

NEW GROMMET SYSTEM: The single-pass grommet hole construction provides more
grommet holes, creating a high-performance stringing pattern that puts 7% more
durability.

MUSCLE POWER: Muscle Power sets the string on rounded archways that eliminate stress-
load and fatigue through contact friction. The construction creates total unity of the string
and frame through closer-and-tighter contact.
Nanospeed 9900 Badminton Racquet

NANOSCALE ELASTIC TI: Elastic Ti provides the high elasticity needed for structural high
strength and a powerful rebound effect. At impact, Elastic Ti resists deformation,
stretching then recovering its shape quickly to launch accurate hits charged with the full
energy of the swing.

ISOMETRIC: The Isometric Square Head Shape equalizes the length of main and cross
strings in the stringbed, enlarging the sweetspot for more consistent accuracy even on off-
center hits.

BUILT IN T-JOINT: Moulded deep into the layers of graphite where the frame connects with
the shaft, the Yonex built-in T-Joint creates a durable and high-strength one-piece frame
that is torque-free.

NANOSPEED 9900

NANOSPEED is the most head-light series, designed for players

with a naturally quick swing and a sharp, attacking playing style. It
is the ideal racquet for players seeking faster movement and
greater maneuverability on the court. It is also an ultra-lightweight
racquet that is thinner, stronger and more stable than an ordinary
racquet for maximum power and swing speed energy.

Yonex Nano Speed 9900 (NS9900-3UG4/5) 2009 Badminton

Racket

The Yonex NanoSpeed 9900 the latest materials and technology, X-

Fullerene and Elastic Ti to provide high elasticity, repulsion and
strength in the same frame. This well balanced combination of high-
rebound elasticity, like rubber, and 10x fold increase in binding force
made it possible to create 5% higher repulsion and 15% greater
Nanospeed 9900 Badminton Racquet

stability. Moulded into both sides of the frame, the Elastic Ti frame
overcomes the limitations of conventional frame material. With its
powerful rebound effect, a split second after impact and deflection,
the Elastic Ti Frame snaps back to its original shape to launch the
shuttlecock down court with high accuracy and with the full energy
of the swing.

YONEX Nanoscience achieves the quickest of racket work two ways.

First, by providing sensitive control of how racket materials perform
at the level of a thousand millionth of a particle unit, and second, by
reducing the amount of racket material the shaft needs, for the
ideal super-thin/ high-strength ratio

By controlling how badminton racquet material performs at the level

of a thousand millionth of a particle unit, YONEX reduces the
amount of racquet material the shaft needs for high strength. This
makes the NanoSpeed line of badminton racquets shaft thinner and
stronger to realize the long-time badminton player dream of a
thinner and strong frame for quick racquet maneuverability.

Yonex NanoSpeed badminton racquets are Nano-powered by

fullerene for more repulsion and speed from a compact swing.
Traditional badminton racquet constructions increase the thickness
of graphite or carbon fibre layers for high strength, which adds
weight to the frame and makes a racquet difficult to maneuver. The
YONEX nano-strucure uses nano-size particles of fullerene and
carbon. The YONEX nano-particle engineering process gives YONEX
sensitive control over how the badminton racquet materials function
at the molecular level. The process establishes a high-performance
molecular bond of the materials and creates a stable, thinner and
stronger headlight badminton racquet that delivers maximum power
and speed from a compact swing.

30% more impact resistant

10% more durability
5% more power

Factory testing demonstrates that by nano-powering the badminton

framethe part of the badminton racquet where stress
concentration is highestthe YONEX NANOSPEED 7000 badminton
racquet provides 30% more impact resistance than an ordinary
badminton racquet, 10% more durability and 5% more repulsion
power.

X-Fullerene The new generation X-Fullerene has 4

radial ribs which unite carbon atoms
to form a football-like structure. The
X-Fullerene is used in the resin which
bonds the carbon fibres and creates

Control Support Cap The control support cap provides an
88% wider flat surface compared with
an ordinary racquet for easier
gripping, fast follow-through and the
