Step One:Select a photo with a strong composition.


Look for a photo that fills the frame of the photo, It might lead your eye through the piece, or have strong lines, patterns,
or texture. Perhaps the photo is taken from a high or low angle or has space or depth (foreground, middleground,
background), or a focal point (area that immediately attracts your attention).

Step Two: Select a photo that is technically strong.


This photo shows control of shutter speed (freezing or blurring action), or control of aperture (having a large or shallow
depth of field) where everything is in focus or only part of the image is in focus, or there is evidence of controlling light and
shadow with studio lights.

Step Three: Select a photo with an idea, or the photo that is most artistic or most looks like art.
This photo may begin to tell a story, or communicate an idea, or be mysterious or humorous. It might make you wonder, or
question, or laugh, or might look like a memory or dream.
