Production

Before you go off and film please be aware of the following.

PRODUCTION TIPS:

Interview in relevant locations

Make sure there is no background noise when filming - ask to

turn off all machines or film in a quiet location and if outside try
and use a wind cover and microphone.
Use TWO cameras when filming - One following the interviewer
and one following you as you had with your multi camera unit

Get MORE footage than you need - you can always cut items
out but you can't add once you have filmed

Think about how you want the final product to look before you
start filming

Add archive footage (clips, newspaper clippings, footage from

news stories etc...) but ALWAYS reference them on screen and
make sure you have permission to use them

Once filming is finished make sure the following is

complete BEFORE you start to edit your production

Voice over script

Hello my name is Bradley Connor and this is louis hollow we will be

exploring the uprising issue of the property market in maidenhead looking
at the differing issues such as the rise in prices , the demolishment of
local social buildings and how these changes are effecting the community
and environment. We have decided to highlight these negative issues as
they affect us in a numerous of ways, the issue of the green belt land
affects us directly as we use these areas frequently especially in summer
having these locations allow maidenhead citizens to enjoy the green
spaces on offer locally A lot of property development is invading the green
belt legislation build in to protect the environment of maidenhead. Major
Issue (86% of Property Plans to be built over the Green Belt Land). The
property market in maidenhead is rising dramatically which is making it
more difficult for young people like us to be able to afford a property in are
local area and would have to move elsewhere we will be interviewing a
local estate agent to use a primary source of information on this issue.
The final issues are the planning permission on listed buildings, this would
include the local hotel The Thames Riviera.
It is important to understand that there are
organisations that are campaigning against
this is or are offering discussions to
understand the communitys opinion on
the matter The RBWM has there
Maidenhead Neighbourhood Plan, which
offers an open discussion and are asking
the community of Maidenhead to come
forward and bring their perspectives and
thoughts across. The have arranged 3
dates in April held in the town hall for
open discussion for anyone to come
forward and debate opposing and
supporting perspectives. The Thames
reach residents association have created a
Facebook page to raise awareness and aid
the
community
to complete
a petition
against the planning permission on local a
communal buildings.
The green belt is an issue that involves the
removal of the vast amount of green spaces
in the maidenhead region, the current Prime
Minister Theresa may has also has made comments on this issue due to
her being the current maidenhead MP. She believes:
that the green belt development plan should only be implicated in
exceptional circumstances
she believes the rejuvenation of maidenhead should be focused
primarily in the town centre
she believes there are issues that need to be addressed instead of
removing green spaces such as introducing robust rules aimed at
gypsys and travellers who are abusing these areas
certain housing plans are being commissioned in high risk flooding
areas and she believes this needs to be avoided
Her ideas have the maidenhead community
as a priority, the green belt is an aspect of
maidenhead which makes it unique from
other boroughs situated around it.
With the property aspect of this issue, we
have three building plans situated in the
city centre all ranging in price and the
amount of new residents it will bring into
our borough. The Berkshire house is situated in the centre of maidenhead
town; it is
6-minute walk to Maidenhead rail station
Connecting to London Paddington in 19
minutes
Connecting to Reading in 15 minutes
16-minute drive to Windsor town centre
18 minute drive to slough
This property development will bring 136
new residents to maidenhead alone, this property only offers weekly
rental that costs between 370 - 390. The company Shanlyhomes have
also created new properties situated on the corner of the maidenhead
high street, there two new builds alone will bring in over 160 new
residents with 2 bedroom studios costing from a minimum of 430 000.
From these two examples it is clear that new properties in the town centre
are unaffordable for younger people.
The maidenhead area has had a recent up rise in pricing within the
property market. Maidenhead's homes are considerably more expensive
than the average UK equivalent .the
properties within it have risen by around
a third, compared to a rise of about a
fifth for England as a whole. The
average three bedroom terrace in
maidenhead can be priced at over 500
000 compared to the UK average of 300
000. This has attracted a large amount
of estate agents in the local area so we
decided to interview Sam Brown a young local maidenhead estate agent
to understand what he has noticed whilst working in this area and the key
points of this issue. On a national scale, there is a mismatch between
supply and demand in the housing market. This has caused prices to rise
to levels that are unaffordable for many. Meanwhile, the population carries
on growing this is where the white paper plan comes into context. The
government to build affordable houses at the same rate as considerably
expensive houses created, this plan expects to target inner city sites close
to transport hubs for more residential development such as maidenhead,
which has direct links to London and major motor ways.
We caught up with Iain Burns who leads a
campaign against the planning
permissions on listed historical and
communal buildings. It is clear that the
community do not agree with this plan, as
these building are aspects, which fit into
the communal feel of maidenhead, which
create direct links to heritage and provide
sources of entertainment to locals.
