As pointed out in the previous article on Inductive Approach towards the learners, it

is essential to expose the students to more of oral and written language skills.
Hence given below is a sample of a lesson plan illustrating the inductive model of
teaching.

Topic: Interrogative Sentences

Level: Grade 4
Time: 30 minutes
Approach: Inductive model of teaching

Objectives
This plan will help the children to know and understand how to react, study and
activate.
It will motivate them to communicate.
It will help the children to work more and get exposure to language objectives.

Motivation and introducing the topic

The teacher may begin the lesson with a few background questions related to the
days topic. The questions should be spread out and more of informative type.

Benefits
Interaction among the students and the teachers strengthens the communication
skills
The students get a hint about the topic without the teachers actually explaining the
theoretical part of the topic.

Procedure
The teacher may divide the class into two groups. One group may be named as
Questions and another may be named as Answers. From each group she asks a
volunteer to frame and ask a question to the other group. The answer group gives
the answers spontaneously. While this activity is in progress the teacher can jot
down the points on the board.

Benefits
Through this activity of exchanging question and answers the students are reacting
to the responses made my each other. Moreover they are trying to inter link the
questions to the answers.
This inductive procedure is also helping the students to create their own
independent way of planning and analyzing.

Conclusions and Application

The teacher now needs to sum up her lesson. It is at this stage that she may inform
the students about the topic they have learned and the importance if this topic and
how they would apply it inside and outside the classroom. She may sum up by
asking the children to perform a small role play in the class keeping in mind the
features of the days lesson.

Preparing a lesson plan doesn't really support the fact that the teacher needs to
follow it word to word. She can always bring about a few changes making it an
interesting and approachable for the students. Its the objectives that need to be
achieved at the end of every new lesson.
