EMERGENCY
NARRATOR
An ambulance rushing through the streets with an injured
George on the verge of life and death. (The sound begins
quietly as if it was far away and slowly gets louder and
then starts getting quiet again as if it was getting further
away.)
HUGH
Sound: phone ringing
Hello?

BETH
Hugh?! Urmmth..th
Sound: heavy breathing
HUGH
Beth? Whas wrong?!
Sound: Beth breaks down in tears
BETH
George is in hospital
HUGH

BETH
he had a fight or something, they dont
know what happen, hes unconscious. I
called Dan and Joe but they didnt pick
up.
HUGH
Im coming right now. Ill get Joe and Dan
too. Dont worry everything will be fine.
Sound: Beth crying.

Sound: Hugh breaths heavily.

NARRATOR
Hugh arrives at the hospital with Dan and Joe. Beth walks
towards them and gives them a hug.
BETH
Oh God, Im scared Hugh
HUGH
Everything will be fine, dont you worry.
DAN
So what happen toem?
JOE
Can we see him? Where is he?

BETH
Urmm hes inside we arent allowed to go
see him yet. The doctor said, hes had
multiple head traumas which caused him to
have short term memory loss. He didnt
even recognize me, it was like I was a
complete stranger to him.
HUGH

Hi, you all must be relatives of the
victim. Im officer Jones. Im the lead
investigator on this case.
HUGH
What do you mean investigation?
OFFICER JONES
Your friend was part of a homicidal
attack. (Pause) whoever did that to him
intended to kill him and they might even
try it again, so we need to get going and
find out the assaulter. Mr. Lucas will be
under surveillance at all times so no one
will be able to get to him. We in the
meantime need to get going. I need to
interrogate all of you and Ill need to
your full cooperation; I hope thats not
too much to ask. Well its not as your
friends life is at risk. So shall we
Silence. Door shutting and a file of paper smacking on a
table as Officer Walks towards chair. Pulls the chair out
and sits down. Exhales air from mouth heavily.
OFFICER JONES
So, Mr. Hugh Im going to got straight to
the point as we have no time to waste. Why
did you do it?
HUGH
Wait what, what are you on bout, are u
mad!!? I wouldnever, ever do why am I
evenwhat makes you think this!?
OFFICER JONES

in the office on my way out at the end of
my shift around 8ish

Door shutting and chair pulling out

JOE

When was the last time you saw him?
DAN
Well I was supposed to meet him
tonight at the pub but he didnt
show up. Thought he just ditched
like most times.

OFFICER JONES
(interrupting)Thats enough.

The investigation finished. Officer Jones has very

unconventional questions in his interviews. All the friends
have been separated. They are all in different rooms. In the
meantime, George has woken up and has been brought to the
police station to be interviewed by Officer Jones.
OFFICER JONES
where is he?
NARRATOR
the guard points towards the door. Officer Jones walks
towards the door and as he reaches, he looks down and
notices a red liquid touching his polished black shoes and
quickly opens the door to find a dead George on the floor.
(GUN SHOTS) the guard falls(GUN SHOTS)Officer Jones falls to
his knees, looks down to his chest to find a red patch of
blood on his white shirt and black tie and before he can
move his head back to see who shot him, he falls on the cold
hard ground never to wake up again.
