SYNOPSIS

RAIN OPERATED AUTOMOBILE WIND SHIELD WIPER

INTRODUCTION:
A windscreen wiper or windshield wiper is a device used to remove rain and
debris from a windscreen or windshield. A wiper generally consists of an arm,
pivoting at one end and with a long rubber blade attached to the other. The
blade is swung back and forth over the glass, pushing water from its surface.

OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT:

Our project automates the operation of wind shield wipers during rainy
conditions and according to the rain level. Previously, drivers were responsible
for adjusting their windshield wipers using manual controls on or near the
steering column. Constant attention to the wipers, though, can be distracting,
especially when precipitation is falling at an inconsistent rate.

SCOPE OF THE PROJECT:

Now widely available is a solution to this type of driver distraction: windshield
wipers that sense accumulating water on the windshield and automatically
adjust themselves accordingly.

BRIEF METHODOLOGY:
The wiper mechanism is controlled by sending electric signal to the wiper
control motor automatically. The above functions are done by using sensors in
front of the vehicle for rain sensing.

EXPECTED OUTCOME:
These wipers turn on at the first sign of impaired visibility and constantly
adjust their rate as rainfall, acceleration and traffic varies.
