First, traditional games can help kids learn to acknowledge their emotions, although

indirectly. During play, kids learn to deal with frustration after a loss, with excitement
after a win, with anger after getting a bad turn, with anxiety when pride is on the
line.

By playing traditional games, kids also learn how to communicate politely with other
players. They show empathy to players who loses, become assertive with those who
bend the rules, and control their temper when others become rowdy.

I strongly believe in the educational value of traditional games. Hence about three
years ago, I developed a board game now known as Oikos Game designed not
only to entertain and to create fun but also to provide an educational experience for
parents and kids. Learning through play is one of the ways to teach life lessons to
kids.

Second, traditional games provide a venue for families to spend time together, to
generate lively banter, and to communicate with one another done in the spirit of
fun. The time spent each day to play with kids is a time well-spent. At the end of the
day, what kids remember are the happy times spent with their parents and siblings. It
wont matter to them who wins or loses.

Third, traditional games stimulate the brain through logical thinking and strategy.
Studies have shown that to keep our brain healthy, we need to frequently stimulate it.
Through reading, learning new things, playing word or board games, solving puzzles,
or doing physical activities, our brain stays fit.

In summary, traditional games allow families to have quality time together while
improving relationships, creating laughter, keeping the brain healthy, and
strengthening the bond that glue the familys fabric.

National Day celebration

National Day is celebrated every year in Malaysia on the

31st of August to commemorate the momentous occasion
when the Federation of Malaya achieved independence
from British rule in 1957.
Every time I heard the shouting of Merdeka, I will recall back the

situation of Tunku Abdul Rahman announcing independence of Malaya from

British on August 31, 1957 at Stadium Merdeka. It was a memorable and

meaningful event for us as a citizen of Malaysia.

. The 31st day of August witnesses a myriad of parades, cultural

performances and street shows. Celebrations include parades involving

uniformed personnel, corporate players, school children, cultural dancers,

athletes and Malaysians from all walks of life.

Activities held during the national day are talks, marching band,

exhibitions, community works, singing of patriotic songs, competition drawing

poster base on theme of patriotic, and others.

The colourful and joyous one-hour parade marching past the road

kicked off at about 8am. The participants comprising of school band, students,

and teachers. The parade starts with marching band echoing the drum beats

of patriotic melody. All students and teachers were assembled on the school

field after the marching session ended. The field was decorated beautifully

with hanging the small national flag around it. The assembly started with

principals speech. Next, the head prefect raised the national flag during the

national anthem "Negaraku" was played. The students then gave spirited

renditions of patriotic songs such as "Jalur Gemilang", "Cemerlang, Gemilang,

Terbilang" and the Merdeka celebration theme song "1 Malaysia". After

singing the patriotic songs, our principle started the opening ceremony by

hitting the gong.

Later, the national day assembly was continued with many

performances. There were choir, cultural shows and other performances. The

cultural shows were from many races like Malay, Chinese, and Indian. The

students were really fascinated by the magnificent shows. The pupils gave

good attention to the amazing singing and the eye-catching traditional dances.

The shows continued by the rhythmic gymnastics presented by the

well-trained students. The purpose of this show is to give some patriotic spirit

on celebrating the National Day to the students. The music was played during

the performance. The picturesque performances look even more interesting

and colourful when the gymnasts rolled the ribbons and the hoops and tossed

the balls to the others.

The time carried on creeping and it was 12 in the afternoon. Then, the

principal gave some speech of hope and wished that the celebration would be

held again in the next year and the forthcoming year. The teachers and the

students departed the field, symbolically ended the ceremony.

Lee Chong Wei profession as a Badminton Player
Lee Chong Wei, born in Bukit Mertajam, Penang; October 21, 1982 is a
professional badminton player from Malaysia who resides in Bukit Mertajam. Lee
won the silver medal in the 2008 Olympic Games, thus becoming the first
Malaysian to reach the final of the men's singles event and ending Malaysia's
Olympic medal drought since the 1996 Games. This achievement also earned him
the title Datuk, and a description by Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak as
national hero.

As a singles player, Lee is one of the world's dominant player and was again
ranked first worldwide on August 21, 2008. He is the third Malaysian men's singles
shuttler after Rashid Sidek and Roslin Hashim to achieve such a ranking (since
official rankings were first kept in the 1980s), and is the only Malaysian shuttler to
hold the ranking for more than two weeks.

Lee has won many international badminton titles in his career, including many
Super Series titles. However, despite his status among the world elite, Lee has
only managed to capture bronze (in 2005) at the BWF World Championships.

Now about his personal life:

In his early years , Lee favoured basketball, however his mother soon banned him
from that activity due to the searing heat of the outdoor basketball court.
Then,Lee began to learn badminton .Attracting the attention of a local coach, the
coach asked Lee's father if he could take him as a student. After receiving the nod
from his father, the coach began to train Lee after school. Discovered by Misbun
Sidek, he was drafted into the national squad.from then.he achieves a lot of
things.
His attributes as a player:

Datuk Lee Chong Wei is known for his extraordinary defensive play, combining
fast reaction times with very quick movements towards attacking shots. This
attributes him with an almost unnatural ability to retrieve powerful smashes, and
return to a winning position within the rally. His ability to smash crosscourt
towards his right side (opposite to the natural trajectory of a crosscourt smash for
a right-handed player) is often a winning shot, especially after prolonged tiring of
his opponent within the rally. He is an extremely fit player, who utilizes a relatively
small physique and consistent, disciplined training program to last even the
longest of badminton matches without appearing to get tired (using this tactically
to his advantage, by wearing down his less fit opponents with clear shots).
Criticisms are in his over-reliance of stamina and defensive play, sometimes not
taking the initiative to attack when there is an opportunity to do so.

Factor of haze essay

Next, the people who make open burning without control also causes the haze worsen. Open
burning is done by those who want to eliminate something like rubbish. Some people also
perform open burning in the back of their own homes. They are too lazy to bring their
garbage to landfills or waste recycling center again. So, they took the easy way to
burntheir rubbish without care if smoke from the open burning of piecemeal lead to haze. As a
result, open burning is releasing smoke into the air and cause haze.

An increasing number of vehicles on the road are like mushrooms after

a rain also causedhaze in Malaysia. In Malaysia, there are 9.3 million vehicles on the
road. Vehicles that are not equipped with catalytic converters has led to 16.2 tonnes of
carbon monoxide anddioxide produced two tons of sodium per day. Traffic congestion causes the
vehicle is not moving but smoke pollution. Gaseous pollutants is suspended matter that filled
the air.Gases that are released can not be released into the atmosphere and vice
versa trapped inlayers of earth. Genesis gases that are trapped like a blanket covering the
earth. An increasing number of vehicles on the road will cause the amount of
smoke produced fromvehicle exhaust pipes increased and hovering in the
atmosphere and trapped in the ozone layer and can not get out into space. This causes
the air becomes thick haze in the country, and so do we.

In addition, the haze problem also stems from uncontrolled industrial activity. This is truefor a
country that relies heavily on the industry who profit handsomely for the nation.Unfortunately,
the attitude is like a palm plant operators in the bush, each release pointlead fumes from
factories that have polluted the air is released into the air in our country. They are not willing to
spend a lot of money to get the smoke filtering device for filteringthe smoke released from their
plants while the smoke produced contains sulfur dioxide andnitrogen, which can cause the air
becomes hazy. The situation worsens when there areemployers who install factory chimney that
is too low to distribute toxic fumes into the air.Factory emissions uncontrolled and not according
to certain procedures will worsen the haze situation in our country again.

n confronting the new realities of a rapidly changing world, Malaysians were shocked againby
the news the Air Pollution Index (API) in Kuala Lumpur area increased dramatically due to the
occurrence of haze. The haze in Malaysia which occur annually has become a habitfor people
in big cities such. Haze problems such as elephant carcasses that can not becovered
with coconut leaves have received wide coverage from the mass media and among
Malaysians. Haze situation worsened due to the occurrence of the El Nino phenomenon. The
question is, what is the dominant factor occurrence of haze? Does the government onlyplays an
important role in addressing this haze? Ask chest pat tastes. By reason
of anyapplicable sure there are consequences, haze has brought many negative impact on our
country and our people.
Among the negative impact caused by the haze is our country's air quality will be
affected. Our country's air fresh and clean will be met by dust and smoke haze hit each
time until theformerly horizontal visibility 2 kilometers to 50 meters. For example, in August
2005, our country was hit by the worst haze in the history of our country, in which the Air
Pollution Index (API) in Kuala Selangor and Port Klang reached over 500 for the first
time in Malaysiauntil the emergency is declared in both areas and hence all outdoor
activities can not becarried out and most of the schools,
ports and factories closed temporarily. Therefore, it isvery clear that it is clear the haze could
be detrimental to our country.
Haze can also cause health problems of the people. Weaker groups such as children and the
elderly easily fall ill. This occurs because the haze cause the body
to become weak andlower immunization. Diseases flu and cough will spread easily. For
example, patients withasthma and other respiratory diseases susceptible to other respiratory
diseases. This happensbecause they are not
good respiratory and coupled clean air less then their health will bevulnerable. In the long
run, we may also have a sore throat, skin irritation, redness of the eyes and so on. Thus, it is
clear that the haze negative impact on public health.
In addition to the deterioration of health status of the people of Malaysia, the country's
economic sector was also affected by the red haze that occurs in Malaysia. Low visibility
isblocked causing the outdoors and fishing industry and agriculture had to be stopped in order to
ensure the safety and health of workers. Malaysians are involved in the field of fisheriesand
agriculture had to find other alternatives for earning temporarily. When the hazebecomes
more acute, more serious negative effects will arise. Source income countries are
threatened due to the haze. Source income states based tourism industry such as Sabah and
Sarawak will deteriorate as the tourism industry was affected by the haze. The tourists not
only from within the country and even from foreign countries will not visit to Malaysia if the
haze is still happening in Malaysia as concerned about their safety and health while
traveling to Malaysia. Indirectly, our economy will be affected by the haze.
If viewed from another perspective, the haze can affect flora and fauna in our country. When the
haze effect, almost doubling the carbon dioxide content of dairy content, otherwise the oxygen
content will be less than usual. This will cause the plant will takelonger
time to grow. Quality and yield will also deteriorate. This is caused by the process of
photosynthesis affected by excessive carbon dioxide content. Respiratory process involves the
absorption of oxygen and carbon dioxide emissions are causing green plants growlonger. For
example, the timber will take longer time to mature. Strictly speaking, agricultural yield and
quality can be affected up to 30 percent. Source farmers will be affected once the
economy is dependent on agriculture was also affected. For fauna, theaquatic life will be
affected because of the content of dissolved oxygen in the water will bereduced and aquatic
life such as fish will not get enough oxygen. It is evident that the haze problem will affect
the flora and fauna of the country.

ways to overcome haze essay

Lately, rapid globalization and thunders around the world have brought many changes tohuman
life in our homeland. In their enthusiasm to pursue the current modernization, we often shocked
by the situation of our country who often suffer from haze. The bad news isbecoming more
common is displayed on the newspapers every day. It has become a publicdebate of the coffee
shop right up to the parliament. The question that often comes in our mind is why Malaysia is
always a hit with haze crisis? Many responses were hovering in our minds our goal. However, an
increasingly serious problem must be resolved soon because where there's a will, there's a way.

Government is the remedy to solve the haze problem. Governments have an obligation
toenforce the law enshrined in the Environment Act. Individuals who have broken the law by
burning garbage in the open while letting developers factory emissions from the plant
without filtered should be imposed more severe penalties. Let them receive instruction in order
to be more sensitive to the issue of the increasingly chronic haze,
because "it's justbanging gaze". Developers factory not only adopt such a suit must be
worn higher, but the premise they had seized. To ensure that the haze problem under
control, the government also needs to require that each industrial plant to install
a smoke filtration system in their plants to reduce the transmission of dust and toxic gases into
the air. At the same time, the DOE must mobilize energy with non-
governmental organizations to carry out more effectiveawareness
campaign actively. This awareness campaign will not only make people aware oftheir
actions which contribute to haze, but the campaign is able to provide
them withinformation about the steps that should be taken by each individual to assist in
overcoming the haze phenomenon. Finally, the government became the
prime catalyst for ensuring thatthe haze problem can be addressed in an effective way.
In addition, other government action to address the problem of haze is cloud seeding should be
implemented to prevent the haze from spreading. As a result of the El Nino phenomenon, dry
weather and drought has hit Malaysia. This situation worse haze. Thus, cloud seedingwork had
to be done to get rain. When the weather is dry, the temperature becomes highclouds, water
droplets become soft, ultra-lightweight drip can not fall to earth as
rain. Therefore, dry ice or silver iodine to be planted to reduce the temperature of the
cloud. Icecrystals will be formed and grows and then pulled by gravity, the water crystal will fall
to the ground and turns into water droplets when melted due to the heat from the earth's
temperature. Rain may play an important role when the haze becomes
very serious. Raincan bring haze fell to the earth, thus the haze problem can be solved by cloud
seeding.

Can not be denied is the role of parents in tackling the haze phenomenon. Parents
areresponsible for educating their children about measures to prevent haze, through informal
education. When they are still in school, the kids really like a white cloth and requireparental
guidance to establish their identity perfect. As an example for their children, theyshould
assume a duty to expose environmentally friendly attitude that such attitude is embedded in
the minds of their children so as to become a habit in life, the saying goes,"one
of ordinary dry bias". Adhering to the principle of "how to mold so her cakes", childrenwill
follow their parents' attitudes as citizens of a country that emphasizes cleanliness of the air. In
forming their personalities to become individuals who adopt environmentally
friendly, parents also entrusted with the task of fostering values, such
as the responsible andsensitive to the environmental issues in the souls of children to
sensitize children about their responsibilities in keeping the air clean. Parents were also given
the responsibility to open the eyes of their children on the issue of haze through participation
in governmentawareness campaigns. Through these measures, the children will be exposed
to this seriousproblem since the age of childhood, even it helps them understand the impact
of the haze ofthe country so that they can offer help in tackling the problem of haze. Thus, the
role of parents in an effort to overcome the haze phenomenon also has a positive
impact becausethey will determine the character of the young generation.

In addition to the government and parents, the country's

leaders should meet with leaders ofneighboring countries and discuss the effects caused by
forest fires, as well as find ways to solve problems together. Indonesian national
leaders can play a role by designing forest firescarefully and figure out how to reduce the
negative impact brought about by the burning of forests. They should also prohibit the burning
of forests and impose heavy penalties on those who violate these rules. To implement and
enforce the law, then the haze problem can be alleviated.

As Malaysians, we can play our part by not burning garbage in the open. This is because
thesmoke produced by burning garbage is among the contributors to haze and as a result of
human health will be affected and lead to various diseases such as sore
throat, asthma, pneumonia, lung cancer and so on. In addition, we may engage in activities to
save the environment by cultivating the plants in the vicinity of the house. With the
cooperation ofthe community, the haze problem can certainly be addressed before the
rice porridge.

Haze has been a thorn in the flesh to Malaysia. to finish

This bothers haze, all parties must work together to solve the problem
The exact words of the elderly, "heavy hands make light work". Various measures should be
taken to prevent haze from happening again. If Malaysia is free from the shackles of
haze,Malaysia can certainly state
thrive in all fields especially in tourism which is
Malaysia based on weather and climate. Let us try to reduce haze and haze create an
independent state for the common good.

This is a cause and effect essay on obesity (being overweight or too fat). It is divided into
four paragraphs:

introduction

causes

effects
conclusion

Try to aim at three causes and three effects. Give examples for each one. Here is a
diagram with some ideas click for a larger image.

Obesity has become a major problem in the UAE. Over 60% of Emirati nationals are
overweight. This is a difficult problem with many serious effects on the individual and
country.

Obesity can be divided into three main causes diet, lifestyle and education. One of the
chief causes is diet. Young Emiratis eat more and more high-carbohydrate, high-fat
burgers and pizza in fast-food restaurants. However, some traditional foods are also very
oily, and because of increasing affluence are eaten more often than in the past. Lifestyle
is a second main cause of obesity. As a result of cheap foreign labour, many Emiratis
now have sedentary jobs, and do not exercise regularly. However, one of the main
causes is lack of education and awareness. The societys attitude to food often leads
to over-consumption. Parents do not teach good eating habits to children, and many
people lack knowledge about good nutrition or a balanced diet.

Obesity affects the individual and the country. The biggest effect is on the individual. First
of all, being overweight has health risks. Obesity can lead to heart disease, diabetes, and
other conditions. The quality of life suffers, as it is difficult to enjoy exercise or
move. Another result is lack of self-esteem. This can lead to depression, eating disorders
and crash diets. The country is also affected. It becomes very expensive for the
government to provide advanced medical care such as heart transplants. Unhealthy
citizens are also less productive. and their children learn poor eating habits.

Obesity or even being overweight has serious effects on the individual and the society.
Both need to take action to examine the causes of this problem and find solutions.

The Benefits of Chores

Even though it is more difficult at the time to persist in having children do

chores, research indicates that those children who do have a set of chores have
higher self-esteem, are more responsible, and are better able to deal with
frustration and delay gratification, all of which contribute to greater success in
school.

Furthermore, research by Marty Rossman* shows that involving children in household

tasks at an early age can have a positive impact later in life. In fact, says Rossman, the
best predictor of young adults success in their mid-20s was that they participated in
household tasks when they were three or four.

Doing chores gives a child the opportunity to give back to their parents for all you do for
them. Kids begin to see themselves as important contributors to the family. They feel a
connection to the family.

Holding them accountable for their chores can increase a sense of themselves as
responsible and actually make them more responsible. Children will feel more capable for
having met their obligations and completed their tasks.

One of the most frequently sited causes of over-indulgence stems from parents doing too
much for their children and not expecting enough of them. Not being taught the skills of
everyday living can limit childrens ability to function at age appropriate levels. For
example:
5-year-old Sara goes to kindergarten and is one of the few students who has no
idea how to put on and button her own coat.

Sam, age 7, goes to a friends house for dinner but does not know how to pour
juice for himself.

Fast forward to Beth who at age 18 goes away to college not knowing how to do
her own laundry.

By expecting children to complete self-care tasks and to help with household chores,
parents equip children with the skills to function independently in the outside world.

With only so many hours in a day, parents need to help children decide how to spend their
time and to determine what is most important.

If you let children off the hook for chores because they have too much schoolwork or need
to practice a sport, then you are saying, intentionally or not, that their academic or athletic
skills are most important. And if your children fail a test or fail to block the winning shot,
then they have failed at what you deem to be most important. They do not have other
pillars of competency upon which to rely.

By completing household tasks, they may not always be the star student or athlete, but
they will know that they can contribute to the family, begin to take care of themselves, and
learn skills that they will need as an adult.

1. Children Who Have Chores Are More Successful As Adults Dr. Martin Rossman from the
University of Minnesota undertook a longitudinal study (subjects were followed up over a
period of 20 years) which revealed that one of the best predictors of a childs success is if
he or she began helping with household chores at age 3 to 4. These children were less
likely to use drugs and had better relationships, among many other significant benefits.
When children are given jobs to do when they are younger, they will develop confidence
in their ability to complete tasks. This goes for very young children as well, because they
are the ones always begging to help out with the cooking, the cleaning or the gardening.
Many parents of toddlers will be familiar with their dishwasher being hijacked by a well-
meaning two or three year old wanting to help unstack it! Yet, many parents, tell young
children no, when you're bigger, or you're too little to do this!, when actually we
should be letting them try little tasks (that are safe and suitable for their age group) so our
children can feel the success of doing something new on their own. Many times, it's more
convenient as parents to just do it ourselves, to save time or make sure it's done correctly,
but we are missing out on valuable opportunities to help our children gain confidence. It
could be the difference between a can-do attitude and an I cant do it attitude as they
grow up.

2. Hands On Movement Will Help The Child With Gross And Fine Motor Skills There are so
many opportunities for small children to work with their hands around the house. Helping in the
kitchen by measuring ingredients or drying dishes; helping in the garden by raking dirt or pulling
weeds; and even chores such as dusting or sweeping are great for gross motor skills. There are
also opportunities to incorporate math or reading into chores. Tell your child to count out four
potatoes, or have them dust only the items that have the letter D in them. Making it fun and
helpful will keep your child engaged for a longer period of time.

3. Children Who Have Chores Learn To Work Well With Others If you have more than one child,
have them work on a chore together. If not, you can have your child complete different jobs along
with you. It's great for kids to compromise and assign themselves different roles, because it
teaches them to be flexible. For example, one night you could wash the dishes and your child
could rinse or dry, and then you switch roles the next night.
4. Chores Will Teach Your Child About Delayed Gratification Some parents may choose to
reward chores with an allowance. Others might give their child a special treat at the end
of the week if all of the chores were done. Whatever the currency is for your child
completing chores, it is teaching him about delayed gratification; or working towards
something later on. In this world of immediate gratification, it's good for kids to see
that they aren't always compensated immediately for their actions. Sometimes, the
compensation for chores might be that mom has time to play a board game on Saturday.
This is teaching the child that if he helps mom with the chores, he will benefit from it in
the long run.

5. Chores Give Children A Purpose Helping do things around the house makes a child feel a sense
of ownership; like she is an important part of the household. This shows the child that you need
and appreciate her help, so she will be more apt to want to help out on her own in the future. Kids
want to feel important, and what is more important than helping the household run smoothly?
They will feel like they have contributed to the well-being of the family, which in turn will build
confidence and self-esteem. Children who participate in chores have been shown to be happier,
even if they feel like the chore is a burden at the time.

7. It Teaches Self Discipline There are many things in life that we have to do, even if we dont
feel like doing it. Its often said that successful people are good at doing what other people dont
want to do or couldnt be bothered doing they have great self discipline. Its so important to be
able to show up in areas of your life even when you don't feel like it this includes school, work
and even relationships. Self discipline is an essential skill required to do well in many areas of life.

1. Staying Connected
The main purpose of social media is to be able to stay connected to friends and families
in todays fast paced and ever changing worlds. You are able to rekindle old friendships,
share family photos, and special events in your life with just about everyone you know, at
the same time.

2. Finding People With Common Interests

Social networking is also a great way to meet entirely new people. You can seek out
groups that are focused towards your special interests and hobbies and connect with
local people that share the same interests. Online and social media dating is almost more
common than traditional dating is in todays world.

3. Invaluable Promotional Tool

Companies, artists, and musicians can reach an impossibly large and diverse amount of
people using social media sites. This allows them to promote and market themselves and
their products in a way that has never been seen before.

4. Information Spreads Incredibly Fast

Breaking news and other important information can spread like wildfire on social media
sites. Important things like recalls, storm information, or missing children are all
communicated and taken seriously very quickly.
5. Helps To Catch And Convict Criminals
People often do not think of the consequences of what they post of these social sites.
Pictures of themselves doing illegal things, or even bragging posts about crimes they
have committed are all things that law enforcement use to persecute these criminals.
They also use these sites to identify and solve existing cases.

The Cons of Social Networking

1. Perpetuates False And Unreliable Information

Just like stated above, anything can spread to millions of people within hours or days on
social media. This also, unfortunately, includes things that are false or made up. This
information can cause panic and severe misinformation in society.

2. Causing Major Relationship Problems

Online social interactions with social networking have not only been starting new
relationships, but ending many others. It is very simple to communicate and share
pictures or plans with a person on social media and keep it completely under wraps. This
new temptation has been driving wedges into peoples real life, offline relationships, often
time ending them for good. Social networking puts trust to the limit.

3. Cyber Bullying Is A Growing Problem

Having access to peoples lives at all times is not always a good thing. A new trend of
cyber bullying is wreaking havoc all across the world. This is especially true with young
kids. They are publicly harassing one another, and posting mean or slanderous things
which are broadcast-ed to the entire cyber world.

4. Used To Profile and Discriminate In The Job World

Just about everyone has a social media account the shows what they look like, the type
of life that they live, and how old they are. Employers are using this to their advantages is
some very unsettling ways. Jobs that are looking for a certain criteria of person, but
cannot legally express these criteria, are using social media to prescreen their applicants.

and Relaxing

Students are more likely to learn on a Educational trip because their minds are
relaxed. They aren't worried about the competitive classroom setting.
Break from the Routine

Students see Educational trips as extended play time. If you find that you are
approaching a topic that drains on your students, consider applying a relevant
Educational trip to make the topic more enjoyable.

Learn Something New

There are facts that aren't included in the textbooks that are fascinating to know.
Many experts can share knowledge to further the learning process about your topic.

Teaches Professionalism

Teachers expect students to be on their best behavior during Educational trips. This is
a way to teach students how to act properly and show their manners in a professional
setting.

Enhanced Sense of Community

If your Educational trip is to a local destination, students will gain a better

understanding about their community. This sometimes boosts the students' interest in
being an active citizen to help preserve what makes the community special.

Creates an Interest in New Professions

Educational trips usually involve a tour director or representative who leads the group.
These representatives can give students insight into the careers that are available for
those who are interested in that particular topic.

The Advantages of Educational trips?

Visiting the Historical places, watching wild life or asking a NASA Scientists about
space travel are all possibilities for Educational trip excursions that are stimulating
and educational. One issue that is reducing Educational trip opportunities is a lack of
financial resources. Classrooms that are faced with budget restrictions should consider
fund-raising programs or ask one of their school's local business partners to donate a
portion of the funds. Consider a tour of a local factory, restaurant or bank that would
require only transportation and meal costs to create an affordable Educational trip
and valuable community relations between businesses and students.

Real-World Experience

Educational trips provide an opportunity for total immersion in the natural

environment and social setting. On such excursions, the student practices his social
skills and critical thinking abilities outside of the controlled class setting. Being able to
ask experts about their particular area of study on the spot requires thinking. He is
able to learn real-world lessons.

Classroom Inspiration

A student who sees, touches and smells historical relics, ancient artifacts and original
sources of text becomes motivated to learn more in depth when he returns to the
classroom. Educational trips stimulate learning beyond what textbooks and videos can
provide to the learning environment. This is not to say that all Educational trips are
equally stimulating, but those excursions that are well-designed result in higher levels
of academic achievement in every subject of study. He is learning in an informal
setting when on a Educational trip that is directed by professionally trained staff, such
as at a museum or science center. This allows all participants to learn without realizing
it, which reaches more students from various learning backgrounds and styles.
Connection to Community

For low-income students or students who are new to the school, Educational trips that
take advantage of local resources promote community connectivity. For example, a
student may not ever have the opportunity to visit a local park or bank, which are
important resources within a community for both the student and his family. Students
from non-English-speaking families or who have recently moved to the community get
the chance to learn about the local area with the guidance of their school, as well as
share the information with their family when they return home.

It is evident how life has changed since

technology has been introduced in the human
life. When we think about technology mostly the
first thing that comes to our mind is the image of
a computer. Technological advancements such as
computers have been designed and created with
the only purpose to help humans and make their
lives easier. Computers have become
indispensable in any workplace where they are
basically considered a compliment for people to
help them on developing their activities. In fact,
computers are the greatest invention of all time
because they have multi-tasking features that
can minimize your work, they can display and let
you manipulate stored information, and they are
used in almost all fields for any purpose.

First of all computers have multi-tasking features

that can minimize the work you have to do. The
cheapest or even oldest computer has at least
the basic tasks such as mathematic operations
and word processing that help you when you
need to reduce your time on doing something.
For example, computers avoid you having to
calculate any result on doing math, the only thing
you must do is to type the information needed
and your work is done. According to Sam Ewing,
Computers are like bikinis. They save people a
lot of guesswork. But it is not just the work you
do or the time it takes; it also saves you money in
some way.

Secondly, computers can display and let you

manipulate stored information. In other words,
you dont need to use paper in order to store any
information on shelves. You dont even have to
rewrite a whole paper because you did a mistake
or you have to add more information to the
written form. You can have as many files as you
can in your computer and organize them the way
you like it without having to use any extra
material or space. As Bill Gates said, Paper is no
longer a big part of my day. I get 90% of my news
online, and when I go to a meeting and want to
jot things down, I bring my Tablet PC. Computers
are becoming easier to carry and they can be
used anywhere you need them.

Finally, computers are used in almost all fields for

any purpose such as entertainment, education,
and any type of job. For example, you can use
computers to play videogames, watch movies,
listen to music or chat on the internet for
entertainment. In education or any job you can
use them for videoconferences, PowerPoint
presentations or just using their basic features
discussed in the first point. Computing is not
about computers any more. It is about living,
Nicholas Negroponte said. So, computers have
become a powerful tool used in several activity
people do in their school, house or workplace.

Therefore computers are the greatest invention of

all time because they reduce your time
consumption on your activities, you can save
your information and edit it anytime, and they let
you do almost everything you need. Computers
have become the most powerful tool ever
created. They are tools of entertainment, tools of
communication, and tools of education that can
save you money, time and materials. You can
have all your information organized in one place
and dispose of it at the moment you need. No
wonder why people fear technology if it is about
to replace some of them in their workplace.

ESSAY REVIEW

This is a nice paean to the computer, but the

essay doesn't prove that the computer is the
greatest invention of all time so much as it
proves that the computer is a great invention. If
you want to complete the argument, then I think
you need to compare the computer with other
contenders for the title you want to bestow here.
The difficulty of course would be in deciding what
to compare it to, and how. Presumably "sliced
bread" doesn't cut it, but what about: the wheel,
the pen, the plough, the sword, the printing
press, the steam engine, the telephone, the
automobile, the airplane, the internet (if that's an
"invention") and so on.

What you need to do, I think, instead of just

creating a list of wonderful things about the
computer, is to adopt a historical perspective,
and make a historical argument: think of the
place of several inventions in the history of
human progress. What did the printing press
make possible for instance in the early modern
period of European history? What did the steam
engine make possible in the history of
industrialization? And so on. If you can make an
argument that the computer is the most
important invention in terms of what it makes
possible in general for human progress, as
compared to what other inventions have made
possible, you will have a much more compelling
argument for why it should be considered the
greatest invention ever.
Computer and laptop has become the need for people, nowadays without
a computer or laptop people cannot survive and they cannot accomplish

1. Social Skills and Relationship-Building

Students often participate in co-curricular activities with students in other grades

which helps to develop relationship skills and, in many cases, lasting friendships.

2. Time Management Skills

Students participating in co-curricular activities learn to manage their time effectively,

prioritize among different competing commitments, and be proactive and creative
problem-solvers. Often, the students most engaged in co-curriculars also have the
strongest time management skills.

3. Exploring a Plethora of Interests

Co-curricular activities offer a nearly infinite range of possibilities for students

wanting to develop and nurture various interests from athletics to the arts and beyond.

4. Developing Self-Esteem

Not all students excel academically. Experiencing success or being recognized for a
contribution to a co-curricular activity can greatly improve students self-esteem.
Oftentimes, this can have a positive impact on performance in the classroom.

5. Commitment

Participation in co-curricular activities requires students to make a longer-term

commitment to something and see it through. Many students stay involved in the
same activities year after year and can eventually take on a leadership role.

A strong and varied co-curricular programme is an integral part of the experience at

an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School like The York School. The York
School focuses on developing the intellectual, personal, emotional and social skills
students need to live, learn and work in a rapidly globalizing world. The IB
encourages both personal and academic achievement and challenges students to excel
in their studies and in their personal development. The IB Learner Profile purposely
combines the more traditional academic attributes of being knowledgeable inquirers,
communicators and thinkers with those attributes that have a more moral and value-
focused dimension; courage, open-mindedness, being caring, principled, reflective
and balanced. Co-curricular activities give students opportunities to be active in their
communities and to take their learning beyond the classroom. This, in turn, helps
students do better academically and be better prepared for the next stage in their life.
