GIXXER & Hayate (SUZUKI) Service knowhow tips :

Please follow those tips for better economic, safe and longer life operation of the Suzuki
motorcycle,
Please use recommended grade of engine oil that is (SAE 20 W -40) and API SJ+JASOMA
Dont however use full throttle for the first 1600 Km.
Please note, while starting the motorcycle in any case throttle should not be rotated more. If
this happens vehicle will start but the engine rpm will shoot much due to too high throttle
opening.
Please do not adjust spark plug gap and tappet clearance with hacksaw blade or with
judgment of eye/hand check, otherwise it will effect the engine performance. Always use
feeler gauge for spark plug gap (0.6 mm-0.7mm) for Hayate and (0.8mm- 0.9 mm) for
Gixxer Motorcycle.
Tappet adjustment are highly important of engine performance (Intake-0.03 0.08mm) &
(Exhaust 0.12 - 0.16mm).
Please never lubricate drive chain with engine oil or grease, always lubricate drive chain with
(SAE- 80 W 90) gear oil.
Please replace spark plug & air filter after every 8000 kms run.
Please replace chain lock after every 5000 kms run.
Please replace Engine oil filter every 2500 kms run.
Please check battery electrolyte level after every 15 days. (Slingshot-125,GS-150R) if, dry
battery use motorcycle dont refilled electrolyte.
Do not use adulterated fuel on engine.
Always use genuine parts for longer life & safe operation of the motorcycle.
