During the month of April, I participated in several events at my

church as a result of my participation in the confirmation program at

St. Louise De Marillac church. In April I volunteered at the Easter egg

hunt that my church has every Easter. Along with other teens, we had

the jobs of stuffing the eggs and hiding them for the children. As soon

as 9:00 AM mass ended, the children came out and found the Easter

eggs. In April, I also volunteered at the spaghetti dinner at my church.

Before the dinner I helped set up the tables and chairs and decorated

the Parish Hall where the dinner was going to be held. After decorating

I helped make spaghetti and meatballs for the dinner. We set each

table with forks and napkins and salt and pepper.

Overall, both of these volunteer opportunities at my church

ultimately helped me because I was not only volunteering my time, but

I was serving fellow members of my parish. As a result of religion

being a very important part of my life, I found that serving others the

way Jesus served us was a very humbling experience. These service

opportunities were also important because they were part of my

confirmation journey. As a result of my participation in service

opportunities, I was able to confirm on April 9, 2016.
