Throughout my entire life I have been a cheerleader and

continued cheerleading in high school. I have been a cheerleader on

my high school cheer team for the past two years, and this is my third

year of cheerleading as a junior. Throughout the months of June

through December I practice 2 hours a day and 5 hours a week for

cheerleading. From mid- August to December I also cheer every Friday

night because that is football season. Dedicating time and effort to

cheer has always been second nature for the love of it. As a junior,

this is my first year cheering on varsity and one of the best feelings is

cheering in front of the crowd under the Friday night lights.

I see cheer as an activity that fits into CAS because I am

donating my time into a school-related sport. Cheerleading is an

excellent way of promoting school spirit and supporting several athletic

teams during their games. For the football players senior night, I

helped make senior posters for them. We also made goodie bags for

the seniors. Cheerleading is a great form of service because I am able

to do what I love and promote school spirit at the same time.
