What worked well for you during our collaboration and
coaching work?
Gathering resources, reflecting on what would work best for
next year and having additional resources for next year,
alternative ideas, brainstorming sessions went well and setting
a focus
How do you feel our collaboration positively impacted
students?
Got much more out of it, kept the focus on theme and made it
clear to the kids, learning targets were clear. Kids are starting
to make connections from one content area to another.
What were any challenges or missed opportunities during our
work together?
So much better than last year, but she would like to
incorporate more student-led discussion versus teacher-led.
Also like to have the project be more project-based versus just
a project at the end of the unit. Add more structure to the
time throughout the week to incorporate all pieces
(vocabulary, introduce the project, etc.)
-Good brainstorming about project for next year (scrapbook
verus project).
Next steps in my teaching:
-Symbolism (poetry project)
-Literature circles (with student led discussion)

coaching work?
-Tried some new strategies and had great discussions and
reflections on previous years.
-Worked well brainstorming & planning together.
How do you feel our collaboration positively impacted the
students?
-Saw some great discussion with students about theme. I
would have liked to see the overall assessment scores for
theme (formative assessment) and who didnt get it vs. who
did get it mid-unit.
-Agree with Ashley that the students had a very clear focus
and knew the learning targets.
What were any challenges or missed opportunities during our
work together?
-I think I could have done a better job of helping to mold the
project into more a PBL unit.
-Continue to work on communicating with each other!
-Continue working on assessment piece and formatively
assessing students.
-I could have tried the Pick 4 strategy with the kiddos to see
if they were getting it!
Next steps in my coaching:
-Continue to support Ashley and her students in any way I can!
I will start looking for pen pal ideas and check into the meet
the author library piece that she asked about!
