poststoallledgerswhenyoudonotenteraledgergroupinafunction.

Theleadingledgerreectstheaccountingprinciplesusedtodrawupconsolidatednancial
statements.Itisintegratedwithallthesubledgersandisupdatedinallthecompanycodes.
Theleadingledgerandthenon-leadingledgersarecalled standardledger.Astandardledger
containsafullsetofjournalentriesforallbusinesstransactions.
Inaddition, extensionledgers canbeadded.Extensionledgersarebasedonanunderlying
ledger.Theunderlyingledgerhastobeastandardledger.
Anextensionledgerisassignedtoastandardledgerandinheritsalljournalentriesofthe
standardledgerforreporting.Postingsmadeexplicitlytoanextensionledgerarevisiblein
thatextensionledgerbutnotintheunderlyingstandardledger.
Anextensionledgerstoresdeltavaluesandpointstoanotherledgerthusprovidinga
exiblemechanismforadjustmentsandreporting.Animportantusecaseisformanagement
viewsontopoflegaldata(IFRSorLocalGenerallyAcceptedAccountingPrinciples[GAAP]).
Besidescreatingamasterrecord,extensionledgersdonotneedadditionalconguration.
Reportingontheextensionledgeralwaysincludesthedataoftheunderlyingledger.
Withextensionledgersyoucanstapleledgersontopofeachother,providingthedierent
viewsyouneed.Thisminimizesthedatafootprintandprovidesnewexibilityforeasily
creatingadditionalviews.
Onlymanualpostingstotheappendixledgerareallowed.

Inadditiontotheledgerapproach,thereisalsothe accountsapproach.Inthisapproach,
dierentvaluationapproachesandvaluationsarepostedtodierentaccounts.When
nancialstatementsareprepared,thesystemdetermineswhichaccountsarerelevantand
needtobeevaluatedasdenedinthenancialstatementversion.
