I am a 10th grade student at the School of Science, Connections and Technology
in San Diego. We are a U.S. News & World Report Silver Medalist school located in Kearny Mesa. I am participating in a project called Soil Degradation and Agriculture. Ours is an interdisciplinary project in which we explore the connections between environmental issues and personal choices. We are developing a project website, trifold and interactives that we will use in the Earth and Wellness Fair to inform our community about Soil Degradation/ Agriculture and ultimately motivate them to improve soil quality locally, regionally and around the world.
I am writing to request further information on Soil Degradation/Agriculture as
part of my community outreach presentation. I am especially interested in learning more about Agriculture in the United States and San Diego County in particular. I would also like to know what is currently being done to help the soil quality. As I have researched this topic, I have become increasingly alarmed at the decreasing quality of the soil globally, regionally and locally. . I would appreciate any insights or information you could share with me. If there are other organizations you think I should contact, I would welcome that information as well. Thank you very much for your time.
Sincerely yours,
Havanna Lawrence Kearny SCT Class of 2019 1954 Komet Way San Diego, CA 92111 Havannasanai312@gmail.com
