Achievable Realistic Timebound

Goal: learn more about and decide on what field/kind of work I would like to
pursue.

Specifically:

1. Issues: economic development and foreign relations


Why econdevt? Achievable way of making lives better
Why foreign relations? Governance, state policies
2. How strictly legal? Legal work but with non-legal dimensions (like PIL
economic/political strategies, allocation of resources etc.)
3. Types of work: not sure which side I want to be on
Private law firms (lawyer): investment treaty arbitration, territorial
disputes
Why: deal with important state interests, intl legal issues
Governments (client/strategist): Minlaw/MFA
**not sure which does what. E.g. Pedra Branca. I have a
contact in minlaw.
IGOs (supervisory bodies): **like in-house counsels?
Generally:
o Negotiating/drafting agreements
o Advisory
World Bank: poverty
o Work: Credit, loans, grants agreements; policy advice
to developing countries
o Requirements: need LLM/LLB + experience

o Find out more about internships
o Find out specific requirements: e.g. LLMs, internships etc
