ABSTRACT

Many developments of residential buildings in Indonesian follow the

concept of modern architecture which has a principle of simple and pure
(minimalist), which is a form of adjustments to the development of the concept of
building in the western area. The phenomenon trend of minimalist architecture in
residential buildings in Indonesian is quite interesting to discuss because of the
trend of minimalist concept derived from the cultural development of the tropics,
so the application of the concept of minimalism in residential buildings does not
have compatibility with a tropical climate. Indonesia is a tropical climate area and
Lhokseumawe is one of the cities in Indonesian which has a residential building
with a minimalist concept, planning of residential buildings minimalist impressed
yet have conformity with the principles and rules of residential buildings tropics.
Proper planning of home building Lhokseumawe city living is more adapted to the
climate. This research uses analytical review of understanding of architectural
theory with the study of the object residential buildings in the town of
Lhokseumawe. The results are returned in the form described in the description,
the results of this study intended to analyze the suitability of the concept of
minimalist architecture in residential buildings in temperate environments tropics.

INTISARI

Perkembangan bangunan rumah tinggal di Indonesia banyak mengikuti

konsep arsitektur modern yang memiliki prinsip sederhana dan murni (minimalis).
Fenomena tren arsitektur minimalis pada bangunan rumah tinggal di Indonesia
cukup menarik untuk dibahas karena tren konsep minimalis berasal dari
pengembangan budaya daerah barat, sehingga penerapan konsep minimalis pada
bangunan perumahan tidak memiliki kesesuaian dengan iklim tropis di Indonesia.
Lhokseumawe merupakan salah satu kota di Indonesia yang memiliki bangunan
rumah tinggal dengan konsep minimalis, perencanaan bangunan rumah tinggal
minimalis terkesan belum memiliki kesesuaian dengan prinsip dan kaidah
bangunan daerah tropis. Selayaknya bangunan rumah tinggal di kota
Lhokseumawe lebih disesuaikan dengan iklim tropis. Penelitian ini menggunakan
ulasan analisa pemahaman teori arsitektur dengan studi kasus bangunan rumah
tinggal dengan konsep minimalis di kota Lhokseumawe. Hasil penelitian ini
kembali dijelaskan dalam bentuk deskripsi, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk
menganalisa kesesuaian bangunan rumah tinggal dengan konsep arsitektur
minimalis di lingkungan tropis.
