The fraction strips were good
Teacher was very engaged; moving around frequently and checking for
understanding
Extension material

Improvements to the lesson may include:

i. Grade level perhaps a grade 4-5
ii. Duration of lesson: 40-50 minutes
iii. Text book/ work book reference and class exercise
iv. Demonstrate concept on the board/ work examples
v. More manipulatives: pizza, flash cards, worksheets etc
vi. Set individual assignment as well as mandatory group work ( let student
WRITE)
vii. Incorporate group work in the main lesson and not as an extension
viii. Incorporate technology, show a short video, tell a story about using
fractions
ix. Conclusion : have students write a short summary/paragraph or two
explaining to their parent/guardian what class was all about and what
they learned.
