PUTRAJAYA: In an effort to realise and achieve the government's target of a nationwide 20%
recycling rate by 2020, Alam Flora has planned a special programme to encourage recycling.
This special programme will focus on the vital three R's of conservation, which are Reduce,
Reuse and Recycle.
CEO of Alam Flora Zain Hassan said that the company has also taken proactive steps to create
a squad of agents called Alam Flora Eco Rangers.
The main task of these special agents are to spread awareness and information about the
importance of recycling to residents who live in the Alam Flora concession zones, namely
Putrajaya, Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan and Pahang.
Zain also said that in September 2015, waste separation will be a mandatory exercise for the
public, hence the launch of these Eco rangers is timely.
Zain also stressed the importance of instilling a culture of recycling in everyday life.
"We have to target schools and young children to inculcate this habit of recycling in the
community," said Zain.
Zain added that the Eco Rangers patrol will begin in an around Putrajaya before moving to Kuala
Lumpur and the other areas in its concession.
