residential complex in Tangerang, Banten, on Jan. 18. The event, which was the fourth
since last year, was part of Sinar Mas Land’s corporate social responsibility initiative.

To demonstrate the company’s commitment to environmental protection, Sinar Mas

Land, in collaboration with Tzu Chi Buddha Foundation, has launched a household waste
management program themed “Green Habit 2.0 Environmental Preservation” at BSD
City.

The event was highlighted with an education program, specifically for the residents of di
Victoria cluster of BSD City, on the waste sorting process.

The environmental initiative, part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR),
has been carried out four times. It aims not only to preserve the environment but also to
promote social value among the residents.

The inorganic waste the residents collect is financially valued, with the cash to be
donated or channeled to people in need.

Resourceful: Residents at the Victoria cluster of BSD City participate in the sorting of organic and
inorganic waste that was promoted by Sinar Mas Land. While seeking to help protect the environment,
the event invited people to be active in social outreach by donating the funds from the waste recycling
program to underprivileged people.

Meanwhile, the organic waste is recycled into useful items.

To support the environmental preservation efforts, Sinar Mas Land has carried out a
greening program at the Benteng Taruna stadium in Kelapa Dua district, Tangerang
regency, by planting 1,000 trees at the sports center.

Festival Hijau (Green Festival), which has been held regularly since 2004, also seeks to
raise awareness about green environment.

Sinar Mas Land launches campaigns, initiates and provides trainings and appreciates
those who help promote and foster everything that contributes to environmental
sustainability.

“We appeal to all people to be able to manage waste and hope they are more aware
about the environment,” Sinar Mas Land corporate communications & public affairs
division head Panji Himawan said.

“As part of our efforts to contribute to the Earth’s protection, the waste management
program is expected to reduce the amount of the waste dumped uselessly. Instead, we
work on them to give economic value.

“We plan to hold such an activity at all clusters and other residential projects managed
by Sinar Mas Land,” he said.

Sinar Mas Land has been developing 50 projects in Indonesia.

The company’s achievement in developing property and real estate in the country led it
to earn the FIABCI Golden Award in Andora (2017), MIPIM in Hongkong (2017), MIPIM
Award in France (2018) and Asia Pacific Property Awards 2018 in Thailand (2018).

As a property developer, the company is committed to environmental sustainability

through its green vision in its projects.

The development of Green Office Park, Green Building certification and environmentally
friendly Mall at the “The Breeze” are testaments to the company’s green vision.

The annual Festival Hijau, which is one the events promoting green awareness among
people, has planted a total of 3 million trees so far and has also been held at commercial
and pedestrian areas and urban forests.

The CSR programs also give small enterprises opportunities to share the economic
spillover brought about by Sinar Mas Land’s projects through the provision of area for
some 3,000 small and medium enterprises at traditional markets and public food courts.
