receiving an IEP for mathematics however, he will be tested within the next few months for
reading and writing. When comparing him to his peers, he is very social and has typical boy
behaviors. He does very well in class if you are able to relate the material back to something he
While administer the QRI No-name was in the process of fighting a cold so he had to get
up often and get tissues in the middle of his reading which made him forget what he was reading
or saying.
On the word list he preformed very well. We started at pre-primary because the special
education teacher suggested to start there. He was able to get to the second level without getting
frustrated. On the pre-primary and primary word list he breezed through it automatically. No-
name didnt stop to sound out any words. However, once we got to level one and two he began
to say the words slower and started to mumble. He was still able to preform quite well landing
him in the instructional area. No-name at this point is noticing the words are getting harder.
Level three was when he hit frustration. He said pass on a lot of words that he should/could
have sounded out. Overall, I think No-name needs to learn how to wait and sound things out.

very little miscues. On the primary level he began to make careless mistakes and began to

name noticed that passages were getting harder and I told him its because hes so smart. As he
was reading level one he skipped words/sentences, switch words, and substituted words. For this
With all of his readings I think he needs to work on contact clues, decoding, and meaning
of words (mice vs. mouse). His fluency wasnt very poor even with the primary story. I believe
its because hes never read the story before so he was very hesitant to read them with confidence.
